I hope this design will incorporate a small platform, or stirrups, or other some-such thing that will allow being lifted upright from the feet, instead of being all dangly-legged and lifted by the crotch (ouch). Also; like the fact that you've angled some of the thrust slightly forward to keep from having to lean forward all the time, like the gravity-belt design.

Hes not being negative folks watch the interview he goes on to say if we do get vtols we need autonomy and quieter engines and motors first. Then we need to geo fence them so that if you enter a another fence range the craft corrects to avoid crashes. This prevents them from hitting planes taking off and landing and hitting others. If you do have a crash itll immediately deploy landing tech and await the appropriate response team. This is what he said. This doesnt sound like hes negative towards them just not in favor right now

I suggest using Vtols for a mode of transportation from rural America to the cities. Maybe on the outskirts of a city like a hub. (Mini airport if you will) and busses to commute from there deeper into town/city. It would lower the changes of accidents of vehicles crashing over populated areas

Then there's the cost. Not a huge issue with Toyota camrys.

If hot air balloons were attached to the VTOL as a complementary aid as to reduce the power and noise would work in my opinion especially if the balloon was made to a shape of a sail instead of a bloated balloon

Joby has a VTOL that produces substantially less noise than a helicopter. I think its going to be one of the key parameters of a VTOL leading to its acceptance.

E-VTOLs are the future, but only if they get the form-factor down to the size of a normal sedan sized car so that it can drive down the street when you battery charge is low. so you can also safely travel when its raining and fit it in your garage. The Helecopter will exist for heavy lifting jobs but the small form factor E-VTOL will be the future once the size will allow it to fit and drive on streets easily and since its Electric it can charge and drive using existing charging stations which is when the VTOL age will start to emerge. But only the E-VTOL can succeed because noisy ICE engines are to mechanic dependent to fly as reliably as a battery Electric would be able to, as demonstrated by electric cars and drones have shown to be reliable. . There is a good example of a small form factor electric VTOL by JetsonAero that you may want to look at that just needs the light weight motor cycle wheels, and blade cowling to be almost complete enough to drive on streets.

Unfortunately, he is correct. Think about it; all the VTOLS we see in movies just fly around, no downdraft of wind at all. Completely fake. Unless we get some sort of anti-grav capability VTOLs are not really practical. Basically just funny looking helicopters. Helicopters have better performance/efficiency too.

With few in the air, it will be fine. The problems begin when you have hundreds if not thousands of these in a congested city. The liability of flying over areas congested with people is huge.

He's right, given the current available technology, personal VTOL vehicles aren't going to be sufficient, efficient or practical enough to be integrated into modern society. Basically, without antigravity technology being publicly and widely available, the concept of these vehicles isn't even worth spending time, money and resources on pursuing. Then you got traffic problems, accidents, falling debris etc; too many risks outweigh the benefits.

Common, same thing could happen with rockets and EV cars, Musk you could have suggested to improve reliability and detection sensors

He always thinks of things in the extreme. Can we replace cars with VTOLs? in this way he is 100% right. But VTOLS will work for small scope transport applications for sure.

I beg to disagree with Mr Musk. What I see is people beating a 5 hr traffic just because technology made it possible and possibly at a fraction of the price of a helicopter.That is the barrier that we want to break .

Irgendwann dreht der Markt. Geht mir momentan etwas zu schnell aber besser so als anders 😂😂😂. Nächster Markt der bald dreht is Lithium meiner Meinung. Auch hier massiv ausgebombt.
