Sir i need help urgently! I have a betta fish ( age 1.5 + years ) but from 2 months i have noticed that he remains at the bottom lying down 90 % of the time. He doesn't even react to pushes and taps to the tank. He has his clean water and live plants in his tank. I even add anti chlorine and rock salt since the beginning. But why does he still lie down and also his fins were magnificent before but now all look small and a bit ugly. Please help what to do? Any medicines?

I’ve had 2 beta fish a the first one died within 2 hr of having it and the second one that I dot that I fell in loveee with it lasted 3 months ish and it died today I’m in tears 😭 It’s so sad I was so connected to him and I don’t know what happened he seemed he was doing good and was swimming around and he was healthy but for the last couple days he wasn’t swimming around and didn’t look healthy so idk what happened but I’m in tears if any of y’all know what happened or what you think happened please let me know and what would heal it if there’s medicine out there for bettas I’m thinking about getting a goldfish but I’m not sure because this loss if rlly hard for me rn 😢

I have a filter and change the water weekly, in two to three days the water is cloudy again

one of my betta fishes tank walls is an LED light, i keep it on green or blue during the day cause i heard they like those colors best. and hers got a little submarine decoration to hide in with three windows in it, and i stuck a little fake plant to the side of the wall of his tank in the lower corner of the tank for him to hide behind if he wants. is that enough decoration and hiding for him? tbh it seems like if i put anything more in the tank it would be slightly cluttered, but do they like a more cluttered, tight tank? also i might try giving him some marbles or something that floats at the top of his tank for him to play with cause when he sees me, he comes to the front of the tank and stares at me like he’s bored asf lmfao

My boy Sunny is about to pass. He started suffering eye problems months ago and missing his food. I stayed with him and guided him to it, but recently he’s been missing a lot and stopped eating altogether, just lying on the bottom of the tank. It’s been five days without food now and he’s hardly moving. Rest in peace Sunny sweetheart. 3 years old. Daddy loves you.

My one goldfish, Goldie, passed away during the night. My other goldfish, Sylvia, was trying to protect her last night when she was sitting at the bottom of her tank. Goldie was having swim bladder problems on and off and they just got worse all of a sudden. I always kept a clean tank, so I’m not sure what caused it. She has always been a little sickly. She never did grow bigger like Sylvia. Both goldfish came from the fair. Goldie lived for 3 years. Sylvia is still alive but but does seem depressed ever since Goldie got sick yesterday. This has just been so sad. I’m heartbroken😪😪😪

Beta fishs bite my multiple cardinal tetra and injuring multiple others tetra species, result dozens tetra deaths. So no i will not take the risk. Unless you feed them and raise them since they are new born fish.

My precious betta Nemo is no more today 😢 I am just heartbroken 💔 & in tears. I bought him exactly 5 months before and he seemed perfectly fit and fine. Just two days before, I saw him not eating food, not pooping and mostly he would remain at the bottom of the tank inactive. I initially thought it might have been due to change in weather, but I was wrong. He was suffering silently poor thing. I got all the parameters right, used to clean the tank regularly, never overfef him and always used to give it company everyday he would come happily to eat the small pellet food. Yesterday it just inclined one side then started breathing fast through the fins and then sadly today he died. Rest in peace my Nemo. I know he's in heaven.

Ive heard worse info but this isnt to far off. I do agree with the tank size requirements onpy because ive had several over the years and the happiest and healtiest oscar ive ever had is my current fish. He has a 120 gallon tank with onpy a large sailfin pleco as a tankmate. He is 15 inches and about 2½ inches thick. His body and color are perfect and the larger tank size makes keeping his tank clean alot easier. Larger tanks for oscars although not neccessary do in fact make a world of difference in the fishes health and wellbeing.
