Applying CT-Based Trabecular Bone Material Properties to an ABAQUS Mesh File with py_BMD_abaqus.
CT-derived material property application is an important step in the evaluation of orthopaedic prostheses. However, it is expensive to procure CT software capable of applying Hounsfield-based material data to an ABAQUS input file, and very few open-source software are capable of this feat. The tool py_BMD_abaqus was created in order to provide a solution to this gap.
This video was created as a guide to using py_BMD_abaqus - a python library for the application of CT-derived trabecular bone material properties to an ABAQUS CAE input file. Documentation to this python package can be found at:

Great video! I am working on something similar, though creating a femur model that contains both cortical and trabecular bone and then analyzing it through FEBio. However, I combined both my cortical and trabecular bone in meshmixer before importing them into my finite element program. Sadly that didn’t work. Would you maybe be able to help me out further?
