Thank's for the suggestions. I do sometime film at the Christiansburg Depot I have been back to the pipeline site in Elliston in a good while, still a lot of construction activity in that area. I have caught them Stopped there and have ended parking at the Dollar General and recording them from there. I also visit a couple of location in Glenvar/Dixie Caverns and down at Walton. @@ElliottWolcott Between Walton and Roanoke I can get train coming out of Tennessee and from West Virginia. The two main lines merge at Walton near Radford. On a Good day between Walton and Roanoke, may 15 or 20 during the daylight Hours. Some days a few more or a few less. Mornings until about 11 a.m. and afternoons after about 2 p.m. seem to be the busy times. There seems to be a lull between 11 and 2 most days.

Yes sir, it was one of the cloudy cooler days. The heat has returned.

Yes, Amtrak will be coming to Christiansburg eventually.. But like all things, when politicians get involved things slow down. The last I heard was mid to late 2026. I would ride Amtrak more but it just isn't safe to go into Roanoke Any more.

The old Depot was built in 1868 after the original depot was destroyed during the Civil War. It is one of only tow reconstruction era depots remaining in Virginia. The Other on is in Rural Retreat, Virginia. Thanks for watching

I have learned to keep a camera ready. I saw a bear a couple of months back at Walton, Va, but he/she disappeared into the woods before I could get a camera ready. Thank You for watching and for you kind comments.

This one is a dead end, with only a couple of houses, From talking to a couple of people who live there, they are not fond of the trains. One man told me "if I had know trains made this much noise, I would have never bought the House." And this area is a quiet zone with no train horns. So go figure.

@@SneakinDeacon1 As a teen I lived a block away from Erie Lackawanna mainline in Greenville Pennsylvania. The trains were loud and it allowed horns. But I got used to it and slept through the traffic which came mostly at night. One could soundproof a room or two though.

Yes, This is the Cambria Depot that was built in 1868 to replace the Original Depot that was destroyed During General Stoneman's Raid during the Civil War. This depot is one of only two depots that still are still standing that were built in Virginia during post Civil War Reconstruction. The other is in Rural Retreat, Virginia.
