I think if you were going to do the real Mekong you need to hire a boat and head off with a plan towards the Cambodian Border. Even the $4K sleepover cruises stop at Villages full of shop sellers. The Mekong tours out of HCMC aren't much. Even the canoe bit that looks Insta is just one long traffic Jam

I’ve done tour all over the country. They all will inevitably stop at some shops along the way to entice the tourists to buy some over priced trinkets and local products. Often times, these stops are not even on the itinerary. The tour guides get a cut of the profit. If you don’t want to deal with them, hire your own taxi for the day. They are quite cheap and will take you exactly where you request.

@@user-hs8hz2oj5d Although in this instance its hard to hire a taxi for a water tour (which is where all the tourist shop stops were on the Mekong river cruise part of this tour). Saying that I 100% with private hire or Motorbike getting around and seeing more of what you want to see 😀

Is it, the episode shows where you can eat it in Bali - Nasi Goreng, Mie Goreng, Soto Ayam - The Food Joys of Bali (& Indonesia)

100%. Some of the freshest food you can have. I personally love the sauces and spice mixes being handmade and measured by handed down memory, not out of a jar, individually crushed by a mortar - you cant beat it

Cheers Simon, Lynn is a bit camera shy but she does love food and gets to taste all the best bites. She also funds the project by working remotely 38hrs a week while I go out and eat food 😃 Hopefully she may make an appearance in our Mekong Video

@@travellingplanetearth1 Yeah Scotty, Lene is not a camera fan as you have seen. Good fun though. Hey mate , with your titles for the vids, try to make it "searchable" . IE, change it from "Eating like a local: HCM must try dishes" to HCM must try dishes, Eating like a local! Just think what you would search for on Google. Eg "The best Nasi Lemak in Bali, compared to Bali Indonesia, The best Nasi lemak! Just sayin mate, Cheers Simon

Yes, Indonesian food has flavour and depth. And with so many regions there is always a local specialty. So many choices. I am looking forward to travelling and filming Java and Sumatra next year.

Its one of our favourite travel places. Our go to place for relaxation

It can happen. anywhere - Ive had the odd piece of seafood/meat get me here and there, especially those ones sitting in the market suns - The joys of travel
