Loved this video!! I visited Bangkok, Thailand this past Winter from the USA. Thailand def my fav country so far!! Not been to Japan yet, but I imagine the Japanese neighborhood you guys went to (Soi Thaniya) resembled Tokyo very much. We explored Soi Thaniya in Bangkok as well & gave me a feel for what Japan may be like! So many similarities between Thailand & Japan!! The cuisines, culture, community mindset, & even both countries driving on the left as well! 2 stunning Asian countries no matter many differences have so much in common 😃 🇹🇭 🇯🇵

Can I ask how far out you guys have to swim to see interesting fish. My swim level is intermediate, but how often is there areas where you’ll be able to stand.

Food isn't that expensive in Singapore but it is expensive to live there. The average 1 br apartment is $3000 USD to rent and to own just a Toyota, you have to pay $110,000 USD just for the license. Then just a crappy, regular Toyota costs over $100k USD in Singapore (so basically more than a Porsche would cost in Europe). So anyone you see driving in a car in Singapore basically put down $220,000 USD for the privilege - most Americans don't even have that kind of money. Not to mention all the taxes and other high costs of living outside of food. So it's not just "a little bit more expensive than the rest of Asia". It's actually A LOT more expensive than Europe or the US. More similar to the cost of living of Hong Kong and the rest of East Asia.

Mt. Taranaki and surrounding area was used as filming location Tom Cruise movie The Last Samurai. Chosen because of the mountains similarity to Mt Fujiyama in Japan.While film shooting, Cruise became well known in the area wandering into local pubs etc.
