@thelucksman Thank you! Im not sure what you mean but basically there are some limitations when it comes to recording things on my keyboard i.e. a) you cant layer two different recordings so you can’t overlap them, thus you can only play one recording at a time (it would have been cool too, in hindsight, for me to use an actual saxophone sound to play the originally sax melody, but alas). Also, b) it only records what i play on the keyboard-it doesnt act like a microphone. (There could be a way to do either but im too lazy to find out lol). Well, I could also have played the sax lines in piano while playing the chords but eh, it kinda makes it less interesting. Of course i could add the melodica (the tiny keyboard) in post but that sorta takes the fun out of it haha. Besides, the parts i actually struggled with and screwed up in my last cover were those riffs i took from the original song-its been a damn while since i played the piano properly, not just slamming on chords in the same way every time. The melodica bits were pretty chill (not perfect but, nevertheless). But really, the real answer is, in your words, “it is a pretty funny gimmick” (and also a bit of a pride thing but shhhh). Ive always wanted to bust out my melodica in one of these covers and boom! the opportunity came as a half-assed replacement for a saxophone! So, um, i kinda went a bit overboard lol. I hope i actually made sense aaoskncnv but yeah thats pretty much it
