Sangamon Experience at the University of Illinois Springfield will premiere the original documentary, “Sangamo Country: 200 Years of Sangamon County.” The film features local researchers and citizens discussing the history of the county and sharing stories that have often been long forgotten.
The film was created to celebrate Sangamon County’s Bicentennial and features local historians and citizens who have researched and written accounts of historical events in the county.
The documentary is a production of Sangamon Experience and the Sangamon County Bicentennial Commission, cooperating with Sangamon County Historical Society.
