We keep sage, stones & sweet grass in them… anything that starts with the letter ‘s’ is fair game, Kidding, you can honestly put whatever you want in them, that’s kind of where the magic comes from as they’re each personal to whoever owns/passes it on, my uncle gave me his made probably around the same time Townes was, it had many years of sweaty native hippy sage from my uncles many Sundance ceromony where he was pierced to a tree for 3 days w/o food and barely any water, natives are gnarly, man…
Does anyone know what he says at 0:07? "This was given to me by a little Indian boy and girl. They were ?????..., matter of fact..." At first I thought he was saying "Seminoles," but it sounds more like "Semibores..." Any ideas?
Such a tortured soul. Barely 50, or not even at this point and he looks so old. With all he has given us in terms of songwriting I suppose we can say he was clearly wiser beyond his age, and unfortunately his human form showed the same. Rest in power Townes.
He sang about drug addiction, death, pooverty, fast woman, mental illness. He was inspired by his own weakness. Such great artist. Greetings from Brasil
He said he expected to leave before his music dried up and that he set it up that way. He lived a lot of hard stuff and drugs and alcohol age you. He was a gift, and he was def. tired when he left

I really wish there were more clips of Townes interviews. I’ve gone through them all and it still isn’t enough. RIP genius
Townes was a legend. All the suffering encapsulated in one man and his songs. It's heart-breaking (good luck on your heart-worn highway, Townes!).
This man was a treasure. His legend lives on.
I love this man

Assiniboine (Ojibwe). A native tribe that is in the North Dakota/Manitoba area.
@@finismalorum9746so… townes spent time in the dakotas??? makes sense being close enough to colorado esp the western side of the state
I think Townes meant Fred McDowell as I can't recall a RJ song that says those words "You got to move".
Webster owned the jester lounge in Houston
Gotta have somebody to move along with.
i just left behing a walking stick id had liek that for cuz i found and liked it for a few years
Well whatdoya know, its a video of Townes Van Zandt! A real legend
I've felt that big giant fist !!!... Not pleasant ! Gotta move !... Thank you so much... ...🎼💙
so sad that his latter years were in his late forties/early fifties. such a waste.
You realize it takes a lot for a guy like that to hang around that long?
@@elizabethheyenga9277 yeah the amount of alcohol and drugs he was abusing it was surprising he even got to 50. RIP to the genius
Anybody know where this was?? Ireland or the UK maybe ?? Thank you.
Hey Jim - this was backstage at The Union Chapel London. Some of the other clips are from Ireland ( Galway country music festival )

Never seen this!!! This isn't in Be Here To Love Me. I don't think it is?
What is this from and where is the rest?
What year was this?
With how good this looks I'm guessing this was a mini dv or Hi-8 camera so somewhere in the early 90s
Why is the website not responsible? Where can we find more videos of him?
I took Townes as a reds kinda man
What were those specials? Or lights?
