    All depends did Steven Spielberg have anything to do with galaxy quest, if so him and George Lucas go back and forth copying concepts from each other like e.t. in the Senate and the trucks in front to the droid army transports

      @RelatableCinema 21 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@Npocommander You may be on to something. Although I didn’t find Spielberg credited as a producer or in another role on the film, he is one of the cofounders of Dreamworks which produced Galaxy Quest. It could be that he was uncredited behind the scenes, or perhaps Lucas was simply keeping tabs on films produced by his friend’s new company. Galaxy Quest was released in 1999, the same year as the Phantom Menace; so it wouldn’t surprise me if George went and saw the film as part of his sabbatical after releasing the arguably most anticipated film of all time (Phantom Menace).

    • @RelatableCinema
      @RelatableCinema 22 วันที่ผ่านมา

      You bring up a fair point. It is not totally the same, and the word “clone” in the title does overstate it, since clone means identical (although it was of course meant to be a fun play on the Attack of the Clones title). I do find a number of similarities between the scenes though as pointed out in my full video. The strongest similarity perhaps being the fear of a liquid being squirted on Padme, Rocky, and Ginger. What’s even more interesting is the similarity between the droid factory scene and “the chompers” in galaxy quest. Those sequences are so close I have to wonder if some of the creators who worked for Dreamworks were hired by Lucasfilm a couple years later. To be clear, I grew up with the prequels and enjoy them to this day despite their shortcomings. This is simply meant to be a fun comparison video.

    Fun Fact: 🐔👇 In Chicken Run, Mel Gibson's character Rocky pays tribute to his iconic role in Braveheart by shouting "Freedom!" before his dramatic landing in the chicken farm. The film also nods to Sylvester Stallone’s Rocky when Ginger exclaims "Rocky!"-a clever callback to Stallone's original movie. @MemeGod-n8d I think it has to do with TH-cam’s programming. It seems to me that it takes time for numbers to update. For example, as a creator I have noticed the view count on the YT studio app (the app that shows analytics) are often higher than the TH-cam platform until my videos plateau; then the numbers almost match on both apps. In this case I assume the like count updated before the view count. Check out the short again in a couple hours if you are curious how the like and total view numbers have changed.

      To me the original Star Wars trilogy has retained its power. The storytelling, music, and life lessons are top notch. I think a problem with franchises is they usually get milked for so long they die a long sad death. They get to a point when there is no meaningful story left to tell. So the writers throw together incoherent meaningless stories. This seems to be the case with the current era of Star Wars. Thank you for watching my video! I hope you found some inspiration from it.
