Pete Rose & Dave Pallone argument
มุมมอง 4.1K8 หลายเดือนก่อน
April 30th 1988 Mets at Reds Mookie Wilson hits a ground ball to Barry Larkin. The throw to first was just wide & Nick Esasky was trying to stay on the bag & umpire Dave Pallone made a no call & Howard Johnson scored the winning run. Pete Rose came out to argue & during the argument Dave Pallone made contact striking Pete in the face Rose bumped him was immediately ejected. Fans started throwin...

Munson & Fisk
มุมมอง 16K3 ปีที่แล้ว
This was back when the Yankees vs Red Sox rivalry was at its best today its all fine with the players. They talk on the bases Jeter & Nomar it was disgusting how much they would be shown on camera talking. The 1970’s it was bitter Munson & Fisk were right in center of it. Seemed like every fight they had Carlton Fisk was in the middle of all of it didn’t matter if it was Munson or Lou Pinella.
Dave Parker Cooperstown

It’s total BS that Parker isn’t in for his career he was the top player in MLB for a period of time.

1986 World Series Game 6 10th inning it’s unfortunate that Buckner was looked at as the goat by the media & some Red Sox fans cause so many things happened before the error & after it.

That strikezone was in retaliation for Albert Belle's corked bat heist incident a year prior. When the homeplate umpire confiscated the corked bat, Indians RP Jason Grimsley broke into the locked umpires dressing room through the ventilation system and switched out the bats. The league threatened an FBI investigation, and things got kind of crazy. In the end, the Umpires' Union and the Commissioner felt that the Indians had embarrassed them, and this was their revenge. Go Braves.
Sad - I'm surfing around looking at stuff on Pete Rose memorial day @ GABP. Billy added so much to the game!
Lol
Lou Piniella was a freaking firey manager. He led the wire to wire. That team has no quit in them. Let's not forget that this was the same team and season when pitcher Norm Charleton ran over Dodgers catcher Mike Socia and Lou Piniella would pick up first base and throw it into right field TWICE in a game against the Dodgers.
I pay money to watch manager and umpires argue. I don’t care for runs, home runs, strike-outs, and many things. I care about insulting and bench-clearing brawls (note the plural). I love bad and emotionally-fragile umpires and passionate baseball players/coaches/managers. When you put what you love together...
El Presidente!
Crawford was always an instigator
Both goes crazy
That’s when baseball was baseball.. I’m 40 keep that In mind
Jerry Crawford was a worthy opponent for Sweet Lou.
I know it's rare but are there any videos of a calm and sedate Lou Pinella?
You're never gonna make the 8 team NBA 60s sound great old man
Someone go back to that WS and put the current strike zone box on the screen. That'd be interesting to see.
And their replacements produced the winning run, Glenn Braggs hit a sacrifice fly that allowed Herm Winningham to score.
👍👍👍👍
to funny, LOL LOL
even worse than angel hernandez if that's possible only because brinkman did not act a like a pro. he allowed personality conflicts to cloud his calls. he should have his pension revoked
Delusional 60s guy
That quote about how nobody can control wilt wasn’t the full story. He also said “I am not a thing I am a person. You handle things; you work with people; I think I can work with anyone. This quote was so significant that John Wooden who was present at that press conference actually went back and edited every quote from his newly published book Practical Modern Basketball from “handling your players” to working with your players” Butch was unfit to be coaching adults much less a team of the Lakers caliber. If you can’t coach without talking down to your players then you have no business in professional basketball.
The TRUE fact is, the umps all made two, otherwise, batting practice pitchers, Maddux and Glavine, into so called "Hall of Famers" by calling that same horseshit strike, that was anywhere from one inch off the strike zone, to the on deck circle, for an entire decade. Not for any other pitchers, just for these two, otherwise slackers, that would've not even be major league pitchers, without this asininity, for so many years. Both of them, especially Glavive, would have laughed right out of baseball, if not for it. Take all those Braves, Division Titles, NLCS Titles, Cy Youngs, and whatever else, and shove'em where the sun doesn't shine. They are absolutely worthless. The umps, absolutely, made two scrubs, into HOFers. What a travesty. No wonder, they only won, one World Series, in all that time. But, what a great World Series... Indians vs. Braves... must have drove liberal, Democrats, absolutely out of their tiny minds.
so how do you really feel about this
Thank goodness for good ol Doug Harvey.
This is funny listening to MC Hammer narrate! He was Finley's mole...a snitch...a rat, that reported everything that went on in the clubhouse. MC Hammer is a louse!
It’s like watching two chickens fight 😂
Top G
Oh my
Crawford sure liked throwing out managers from the dugout
Joe Brinkman had a vendetta against Cleveland. Every time he was behind the plate he screwed the Indians over. It all stems from when he got hit over the head and busted open at 10cent beer night at old municipal stadium. He is and always will be one of the worst Umpire ever to walk the planet and a pos
Wow that first call, ball 1. Then he just lazily points his finger out indicating a strike. You have to be a little more emphatic. And get the damn call right. Not sure what his agenda was that day...
Smoke did that to hatcher on purpose
I wish Piniella woulda decked his ass…..
that umpire lowkey punked lou i never seen an ump get that fired up he was like " you aint punking me lou, F that!"
Drogaaaaa
Why is the sound quality like World League Football
Very sad was the brilliant play of Jerry West scored a Triple Double in Game 7 to this day only man to win NBA Finals MVP from a team that lost the series.
We sure miss sweet Lou here in Seattle. Those are the good old days.
Tom "Jackpot" Halion was a 1st base ump here?
Sweet Lou. Love that guy. Anyone know when this game was?
Crawford is a tough ump
Where's the players getting ejected arguing over a pitch an inch off the plate? Its almost like the players back then just accepted the zone was a part of the game.
Also sometimes they know this ump has a quick trigger and wont bother with an unwinnable battle. Also this is a massive game where it's not worth risking anything and having an important guy ejected. In May yea maybe he lets the ump hear it. In October you have to gut it up
Never understood why those Braves pitchers were given a wider strike zone anyways. Maddux and Glavine could locate pitches perfectly with the regular strike zone.
Annoyed the hell out of me the different rulebook that they got to play by. They had a great staff and on top of that were getting generous calls. MLB I feel really wanted a succesful franchise in what was considered the capital city of Americas South.
i was too young to watch then but wow seems clearly rigged to me, that strike zone is absolutely outrageous
umpire went a bit nuts too lol
Doug Harvey was one of the greatest umpires of all time and had everybody's respect.
I wish we could hear what there yelling about
I literally just got done watching a video clip of that same umpire having it out with Don Zimmer. Was this Umpire Crawford the Angel Hernandez of back then?
LMFAO!
Don't see this anymore.
Sweet Lou
Lou Piniella made baseball funnier than anything that could happen in movies.
Those expos uniforms... Like a circus show is in town
Just another video confirming umpires are outdated and unnecessary…
That ump got Lou good. You dont see that anymore
