Cantastoria
เข้าร่วมเมื่อ 17 พ.ค. 2024
Cantastoria is a project-oriented chamber choir. We write and produce multimedia cantatas for video and live performance that tell stories with a choral music soundtrack.
Typically 10-15 minutes long and featuring 3 to 4 choral pieces, our cantatas tell short stories.
We are passionate about collaboration with creative people and organizations in other artistic disciplines to tell our stories in creative and compelling ways. We love to work with, and be inspired by, other musicians, dancers, painters, sculptors, actors, mime artists, poets, composers, film producers, illustrators, animators, trapeze artists, balloon wranglers… if it’s fun and creative, we’re down!
We are based in Austin, TX and rehearse on Wednesday evenings.

Though Amaryllis Dance in Green (William Byrd)
Lovely voices...takes me back 70 years to Great Britain, when we always sang this beautiful carol around a Yule Log Fire, eating "Peace Biscuits" !
Nice recording! I've been wondering how it would sound with "I'll" rather than the original (but very obsolete) "chill." The playful, percussive "ch" bouncing between the voices is delightful, but the word itself sounds so odd, even if you know what it means. I'm still unsure which way I'll propose to do it when I bring it my singing buddies, but now I can make a more informed choice. Thanks for sharing this great performance!
Thanks. Yes I think authenticity is great for a specific context of an muso audience that may care or appreciate it. But more generally effective communication of the meaning of the text is king and chill is simply not intelligible to a general modern audience. So my choice for this was I’ll for that reason.
Great work on this
Beautiful ❤
