Luke Cage: Season 2 - An MCU Retrospective
I'll be honest, the characterisation is kind of weak but this is inkeeping with the matetial the characters are supposed to be almost historical characters. Lets see what season 2 does.
Your right on most points. Jamie stayed in his son's life the car seat is in his car.
@@azraiel1984 there ya go. Another reason why Jamie isnt the villain like the show tries to say he is lol.
@3ThirtyMovies Agreed and last I checked Beth threatened Jamie's Kid when she saw his sons car seat.
It went from a cowboy sopranos to a soap opera
@@KrazyJohnny my God did it get so bad. Like I enjoyed very little of the last two seasons and it's insane when you jump over to 1883 and 1923 and they're just amazing. Like what happened?
I didn’t watch Luke cage season 2 till 2023 because at the time I was so disappointed with Jessica Jones season 2 and thought why would Luke Cage season 2 be any different. Having seen it now I can safely say it’s so much better than Jessica Jones season 2.
@@samuelmackenzie5267 I agree! I go back and forth between if I like 1 or 2 more. Like I think one would've been a better season, if they had let cottonmouth be the villain all the way through. I think season 2 gets this right with Bushmaster.
Wow, okay. That's just such a weirdly different to how I saw it because I loved this episode and it was so gripping!
@@zenithquasar9623 yeah idk just wasn't a fan. But thanks for the comment and being civilized about it lol
I agree with everything you said in this video *except about* Turturro playing Falconer. I think he is SO damn perfect. I was skeptical about the casting until I saw it. I love Mark Strong and almost everything I've ever seen him in but I think Turturro was such a stronger portrayal of that character. Different than we'd seen before but I love his take. Cheers
@@generalstoaschicken it's definitely different and I don't think turturro is terrible. I think maybe the problem is that maybe I'm jaded by all of the bad movies turturro has done the past 10-15 years lol
I'm uniquely attracted to the Sophia Falcone character; I keep saying to myself 'I can fix her".
@@Mainsail333 lmao live on the wild side my guy!
This episode felt like a Black Mirror episode
@@Lover_of_Pancakes yeah I can see that I really liked it though. Flashback episodes are hard to do because it's just like a heavy exposition dumb but this one was entertaining
ay fam imma be honest, you need to be a lot more pissed off when delivering these points. I totally agree with everything you say but it had me literally screaming at my screen when i saw all the bs that was delivered unasked
@@tschark6469 haha I feel you lol it's tough sometimes because my blood boils enough while I'm watching the show, there's times I just don't wanna stress myself out again lol
Part of me wonders if there was a better version of this movie that could have happened if Coppola made it at some point in the 80s etc. Though if I'm being honest, I think that making Apocalypse Now kind of broke him as a director judging from the trajectory of his later career.
@@Godzilla52 yeah maybe I mean I can't imagine the emotional toll that movie probably had. I know a lot of people roast Dracula. It's a bit silly but I've always thought it was enjoyable.
It's really bad? This coming from an unburdened-by-what-has-been Generation Zer? You probably think John Wick is an arthouse movie. The most complicated film you've reviewed is A Quiet Place Day One. I bet you've not seen Apocalypse Now or The Conversation. You're not qualified to judge the work of Coppola. You're like a rabid Taylor Swift fan criticising Be-Bop or the works of Jean-Michel Basquiat. Y'all are culturally bankrupt. Coppola didn't make this film for you, he made it for me and for future generations. Your generation destroyed the movies.
Sad to hear that this mess is what Coppola will leave us with.
@@IronClawGaming it's so sad man. He's a legend. Shouldn't have to end this way.
This is not a legacy. But maybe, maybe, 30 years from now will be a classic.
95% of the show can be removed without changing anything. A good show, like Breaking Bad for example, would be worse off with any of the lines removed. Here we can remove multi-season plotlines, and it would affect absolutely nothing. The multi-episode orc negotiation ended where it started, nothing gained, nothing lost, except our time.
In this shows own pictures of the city in Eregion, there are no walls, there are open beaches onto the river. Now they have walls? No, this happens because they have no plan, it's moment to moment nostalgia bait and filler content.
With every episode it becomes clearer that they have no story and no plan. We can marvel at the quality of the CGI and call it the best yet, but it isn't, it's worse with every episode.
@@StormcastMarine lol no I totally agree. It's not good. Like I loathe having to watch every episode to write a review. It's insane the dip in quality compared to the original trilogy. Even the Hobbit trilogy, like this show makes the Hobbit trilogy look like a masterpiece.
Show sucks. Cancel it
@@Thatdudefresh ha I agree it just isn't worth the money Amazon is spending on it.
I agree, the interactions between celebrimbor and Sauron was actually well-written which is rare since the writers are usually dog-shit. Their interactions were for once flawless and I felt captivated watching these two. The battle itself was a mixed bag. Seeing the orcs was just great and they really reminded me of the original lotr orcs both in vibe and nostalgia. Since I was honestly interested in the plot for once, the battle was also fun to follow and not just a big mess of CGI-slop. However the battle was very awkwardly shot. And it shows in the initial horse-charge with the orcs and elfs, the battle with the troll and the sudden cut to day in the very last battle sequence. The kiss with Galadriel was just something I decided to ignore, to save myself from insanity. But I'm with you perhaps the first ever good episode and definetly the best one so far.
Elrond married Galadriel's and Celeborn's daughter Celebrían. Who kisses their (future) mother-in-law? Does Arwen know that her Dad and her Grandma canoodled in the middle of a war-zone?
@@PiscatorLager thanks for the insight. I honestly didn't know I've only ever read the hobbit and the LOTR trilogy. So everything from the extended canon is knew to me.
The biggest problem with Jessica Jones is that she basically has ONE noteworthy villain/storyline: Kilgrave. That story was done masterfully in Season One, with a beginning, middle, and end that were perfect for the story that was being told. But as soon as Kilgrave died, Jessica Jones was always going to end up in No Man's Land (no pun intended). It was just a matter of sooner or later. Netflix Jessica Jones should never have gotten three seasons. It should've gotten Season One, then future storylines with that character and her supporting cast should've been included/interspersed throughout The Defenders, Daredevil, and Luke Cage.
@@fred_flinstone8 yeah I haven't seen season 3 but I strongly agree with your opinion on that. Season two felt a lot like we were just running in place.
Stop watching
@@IceBoneKillah can't do it.
Yeah u can. As for me I like it.
@@sharonprince6364 I wish I could dude but I cannot quite shows and movies halfway through. Gotta finish it. Plus I started a review channel so, I have to review the whole thing. If not I'd have no integrity.
Tbh you could easily cut out Beetlegeuse's wife from the movie and it would not change the story one bit. Really underused character.
@@tanzerator56 100%. That was sort of my biggest issue with this movie. It feels like every story thread could've been a subplot to a larger narrative but they never really tie into a larger more compelling narrative. Stuff just kinda happens.
Thanks for the derp.
The reason Beetlejuice came out now, is because Hollywood people are occultists. The star called Betelgeuse has always represented the arm or strength of the Antichrist. It has been known as the arm of Gilgamesh, Nimrod, Orion, the Giant, and other names. But the concept remains the same. Both scientists and occultist had noticed in the past few years that the light from Betelgeuse was dimming. Occultists had been interpreting this as power of Antichrist at work, being weakened. But now Betelgeuse’s light seems to have recovered. Occultists are happy that the power of the Antichrist is back. What better way to celebrate that the hand or power of the Antichrist is back than to make a Beetlejuice movie?
thumbs down, not liking, not subscribing. dont know why ur subpar review has to pop up on my feed.

I could not disagree more with your boring statement. This is a thrilling, breathtaking series. Locations are diverse and brilliant. The acting is good, and so is the writing. Don't ruin this for those who are genuinely enjoying this.
@@brianbeath8690 if you like it, good I'm genuinely happy for you. I'm not trying to ruin anything. Just giving my honest feedback.

Bro keep it up, you have great videos. Your channel will blow soon!
@@joee0964 thanks! Appreciate the support!
I actually think the Five & Lila affair might have worked if there was time afterwards to deal with the aftermath, but given it happened in the 2nd last episode, it just added unnecessary personal conflict.
@@emmoo2701 right that's my biggest complaint about the whole final season it just feels so rushed.
Honestly, they should've just sticked with Viktor, why they did separate from him
Definitely the worst season. Frechie and MM do basically the same thing they do in every season. Hughie is so abused this season, and Starlight was made much more unlikable. A-Train and the Deep were handled well. Homelander is still great, but not as unpredictable as he is in previous seasons. The reason people are criticizing the politics of this season is because it's much more one sided than 1-3 and much more blunt imo. It's still entertaining but definitely has some problems.
@@zacharyolerich7521 yeah the weakest season for sure. I liked pretty much involving the seven but didn't really care for the boys stuff.
I think it was great and set things up amazingly for season 5
@@meme-rf6uj yeah I mean I didn't hate it. It's just some of the narrative threads and character arcs just felt a bit rushed. Still wildly entertaining. I just didn't think it was as buttoned up as the previous 3.
Trippin
It ain't that deep bro
The Boys prequel series is coming out? Thanks for letting me know 👍
@@Water_pimp yeah I love the boys but I don't know how I feel about it honestly
For me the movie is 10/10. I love Jeff Nichols' catalogue. I am glad movies like this still come out these days. It's a gift which of course not everyone will treasure accordingly. Thank you for the review.
Right! I'm glad there are studios that are still willing to put movies out there like this. Nichols is great, I think midnight special is one of the most underappreciated sci-fi movies of the past decade.
I love both the first and second avengers movies. But both have weaknesses that annoy me. For the first movie it’s Caps suit he wears and the cinematography. For the second movie it’s ultron quirkiness and the idea that a whole city can be lifted into the sky using a surplus of vibranium. Other than those weaknesses I still enjoy the films.
Don't even get me started on the Avengers cap suit. My God is it terrible. How did that pass the final approval stage?
Another one of my favorite Marvel Movies! I agree, this movie does deserve more recognition. It was a fun ride in the theater and I love the film. Thanks for showing some love to these underrated Marvel Movies.
I like Avengers: Age of Ultron
Same it's a fun film!
YOUR CONCLUSION!🤦♂️😮😃😂🤣👏🤗
Dude I'm telling you I do not like professor x in the show. So many times he would say something to cyclops or wolverine and I'd think, hang on you're just gonna let this clown talk to you like that? I definitely think they fixed his characterization in "97. I enjoyed him a lot more, what we got of him at least, in the follow up.

The winter soldier is a masterpiece. It has everything you want in a comicbook movie. It is still my favorite Marvel movie .
It's incredible how relatable it is too, still to this day.
A "thumb's down" is the best I can do. The author should turn back the clock and enroll in my classes on literary criticism, film and discursive writing. I find nothing here but the author's own imagination imposing itself. The reader might listen/read and count the examples of "feel". Some contributors are unable to offer anything more than empty naysaying. This one is thankful for being allowed this much space; I'm sure. I leave him with what I wrote below: Sir, nobody cares how you feel. If he had submitted this in my class, he would have received an A for loquaciousness and an F for content.
I mean you might as well keep going, every comment is more support on the channel.

Right? it deserved to be in more Marvel films. It would have been cool to see Iron Man battle Ultron with it!
