I can not thank Bill Warner enough for the Amelia Island Concours d'Elegance. Dad and I stumbled across it in 2006. From then on it was a set in stone event for us, that weekend was permanently added to our calendars. We added his childhood best friend and another family member to our weekend and the four us rented a house each year to attend the events. We went every year until 2022 and the memories both at the show and spending time with family are plentiful. It was by far our favorite weekend of the year and we always were so impressed with the amazing cars he pulled together for the show. We loved all the early brass era cars, the amazing prewar european coachwork cars, all the Duesenbergs, and of course the oddball things no one knew existed. Thank you Bill for bringing something so wonderful to this corner of the country. It's so hard to find shows that bring the caliber cars you were able to at each show. The 13 Thomas Flyers class many years ago is just one of many examples of cool things we were so grateful to see. This show also started my love for french automotive history and now I'm always trying to find things to read and see about the early years of automobiles in France. Thanks for memories and hope you continue to have an awesome retirement. Those 17 weekends with my dad are priceless.

Vectors: First gen was the W2 (not shown), second gen was the W8 (what you call the third Gen), third gen was the WX3 (you called it the first gen), the 4th gen was the M12, the 5th and last gen was the WX-8, they are still trying to get that one into production.

On the 1913 Mercer...that extra seat on the left side of the cockpit; what (or who) was it used for? I was thinking the mechanic/engineer to diagnose issues?

Great video! Regarding the 1959 Porsche 718 RSK at Mecum...I may represent the "average car guy" and I don't see how cars like this fit in with the likes of Mecum and Barrett Jackson. When I think of Mecum and Barrett Jackson, I think 50's through 70's American cars, Rad-era cars of the 80's and 90's and some of the modern muscle with a sprinkling of various German/European "everyday cars" and some modern JDM sports cars. When auction houses such as Bonhams, RM Sotheby's, Gooding, etc. are mentioned, I think full classics as well as special cars like that Porsche, 50's and 60's Ferrari's, Bugatti's, vintage race cars, rare Shelby's, etc., which seem out of place at Mecum and Barrett Jackson.

Just brought a 67 4 Door model, its in absolutely horrible condition but its so rare to find any information on that model, or pictures.

That 959 was an incredible, technology rich vehicle. When everyone my age in the 1980's had Countach posters, I had the 959 magazine articles pinned to my wall. I'd be happy someday with a base Cayman in my garage.

Quick tell the buyer to sell it asap, they are not and will not age well.

My college car was a 1965 Chevrolet Corvair Monza 4-door. I bought it in 1991 off of a friend for only $3500. It was really nice. It had original 65K on the odom. I drove it back and forth to Mt. San Antonio College in Walnut, CA and I use to sit in the trunk and eat my lunch in the parking lot. Unfortunately, it got vandalized and I sold it cause I was so upset and heartbroken. I bought another Corvair, but not until 2020 came around. It's a 1962 Chevrolet Corvair Monza Coupe and along with that, I also own a 1981 Mercury Cougar XR7 (one that you took a short video of at the Dayton Concours d'Elegance 2023).

LOL! That's my car! Thank you! I was asked to return this year for the Dayton Concours d'Elegance 2024.

Beautiful car and color combination however one thing to point out, the air cleaner sticker is not factory correct and also if this is a true 455HO car it would have a very different air cleaner known as a ram air style which gets cold air from two twin rubber boots that mate to the hood opening when the hood is closed. Yes it may hace a 455 engine but most likely not a true round port 455 HO motor would be my guess.

Uh oh, some incorrect info regarding the Lancia. The Integrales were decidedly NOT rwd, they were leading edge all-wheel-drive and used it to absolutely dominate rally racing after Group B was cancelled. Also - comparing it to a Ford RS200 is a bit apple v orange as the Ford was one of the over-the-top monsters that crashed, brought about the end of the Grp B series and led to the focus on Group A where Lancia owned the show for 6 years. So Jay’s choice was either all-wheel-drive or…all-wheel-drive.

The lancia rally car beat the 4wd cars back then .

Hey Greg...how come you have my Bristol 403 pictured, instead of Jay's? I had to do a double take to confirm it, but the black 403 is my car. Jay's is Maroon or to be Bristol Uppity, "Bristol Red". I do believe that we have the only restored 403s that are routinely driven in the USA. And both are in southern Calif. I hit the roads every week or two in it (...now...see below) . Since you work for/with the auction house that sold me the car a few years ago, I won't name that "top tier" company. Their photo's (which were utilized in the video) nicely failed to show the numerous expensive defects that the car had. It was delivered with the dreaded "No Battery" sticker, hiding all sorts of cute stuff. Starting with the "let's steal this car", Hot Key reconfiguration hidden under the dash. It took me & the delivery truck driver several minutes to find it. After touching 2 wires together, we got the car going. That was just the start..pun intended. I had to spend 10s of thousands to have a drivable Bristol.
