One time my pawn said there's a chest in the area and I let him lead me to it. It was an already opened chest. I let him go swimming in the nearby ocean right after that.

People seems to be way too afraid of their pawn catching dragonplague, but how it works is very interesting, because besides disobeying the occasional "follow me" command their lines aren't exactly negative, furthermore they seem to be a lot more aggressive towards enemies, for example a kindhearted support mage will start getting in the enemies face and cast lighting instead of staying back. The reality is your pawn WILL get the plague once you've advance enough in the main story.

That's not actually dragons plague dialogue, my pawn says that when we beat a strong enemy without much difficulty, 300 hrs in and no dragons plague

I was doing the phantom oxcart quest one day, and I was unaware that my deae mage had dragonsplauge. I had to get to the oxcart at night to I kept sleeping at campfires, continueously progressing her condition. Then I was in Vernworth and I slept at my dwelling. Then my dear mage killed the whole town. She hadn't been disobedient prior to the event or this. But she got it afterward again.

My pawn caught dragonplague, I thought it was due to the straightforward inclination that he’s talking sassy. I camp a lot so Inn are almost never used. Anyways, one time really late stage I told him to pick up something from a chest, he sassed ran off and succinctly jumped into a pond while fighting a dragon. Funniest shit I ever saw.

One of my hired Pawns said “You needn’t command me at every turn! I know what to do!” when I pushed “Go!” during combat. Literally paused mid fight to throw him into the Brine, there shall be no Covid in this household.

My poor pawn hates her visits to Dr. Brine, but it must be done!

On my first pt it was a nightmare to have to deal with DP constantly, I had to turn off the online feature. I’m now on 3rd pt and enjoying the game worry free. I refuse to kill my pawn over and over or anyone else’s pawn for that matter. Some players even leave their pawn’s untreated for the extra damage buff but that’s not for players like myself. I still think it’s more like a cruel prank from Capcom.

Surely this is something a good vaccine and a few dozen boosters could fix.

I never have to worry about dragons plague because the only time I've used an inn was was at the first camp when it tells you to.

my beastren main pawn was being cattier than usual. didnt even check to see if he had red eyes- i just said fuck it and threw him into the ocean

I almost had to give my beautiful baby boy his first involuntary bath yesterday morning. To honor his memory (for the five or so minutes I would have to live without him), I decided to do it at the first place he accidentally fell in the water. Fortunately, I decided to rest at a nearby campsite first, and during the night, the plague passed to another pawn, who I immediately fired. And tossed in the drink. You know, just to be a safe!

It's a terrible disease but very preventable with basic hygiene

The Brine 'cures' and brings back anew. Now I'm curious if there's other continents beyond the Brine's vast sea...

I mean you say look at the eyes to be able to tell. Sure! I’ll get right on that. Just as soon as I figure out how to zoom the camera towards their eyes without having to run into a wall or close space.

I had some pawn on my group with dragonplague once but nothing happened

Even if they haven't shown signs I always check their eyes before I rest Red eyes at bedtime? Go take a long walk off a short pier

What’s the name of the quest required please? I explored the area without quest.

I prefer finding player pawns with poopy quest rewards, hiring them and then camping to transfer the plague.

I got the max level 50 npcs affinity today. Never tried. I just buy rounds at the pubs .. maybe that works with pawns too

I'm level 61 plus. I spent a week in the unmoored world and the most dragons plague I've dealt with is I was walking and I hired a Capcom pawn when I was level 37ish . I immediately got the tutorial message but since then nothing. I really need a hard mode

Ooooof see my pawn has closed eyes and a tattoo mimicking the appearance of a blindfold... so.....

I make sure to never hire someone with their face covered and i cleanse my main pawn after every dragon fight! 😎

Beware of pawn hirelings that have helmets covering their eyes. If you can't see their eyes, then pick another pawn!

additional tip; wade into the water while carrying your pawn, don't throw them. throwing them decreases their affinity towards you, wading in doesn't.

This happened to my main pawn unmoored world, I rushed to finish the quests as I couldn't use the Brine to fix it

My pawn had a similar dialogue line (the fighter version) and he never had dragonsplague. On the other hand, once when I needed health regen and called for help, the mage in my party (not my pawn) was like "no need to command me on every turn, I know my duties!" Or something like that and I knew instantly something was off. And she indeed had red eyes so threw her into the brine instantly, lol.

They also say the same line when a mage pawn uses the meister ability that gives you infinite stamina.

For me, the zombies didnt show up (even though I waited over a week by sitting down on the bench) til I went back to Vernmouth, completed a quest, and then teleported back into this area. Not 100% on the trigger. But when I came back to this area, I could tell it was gonna work cause I was getting attached by undead along the path at night. Plus the cave was overrun by goblins

How do you actually get dragonsplague ? I know pawns can infect others but can fighting a dragon give it to them?

How do you get it? I have done 2 playthroughs and not gotten it once. I want to experience it at least once.

Just remember, if your Pawn got maxed affinity, it will lead to different and suspicious dialogue about being comfortable and strong too so better check the eyes

I think it would have been so cool if you could use it to your advantage somehow. Like sleeping at a campfire would kill all the monsters in the area and their bodies are just scattered around and still had loot drops on them.

Your pawn gets scars doing this. Just let it pass to another pawn and then dismiss them. Simple.
