Helmet or No Helmet Must be asked at the same time as Wind Shield or No Wind Shield Helmet buffetting caused by wind shields will work your neck like no tomorrow Speed of travel ... 75pmh is significant number ... Wind speeds over that speed are hurricsne force with every thing that implies
Windshields don't always make things better, some can cause awful buffeting, depending on their shape, size, and the height of the rider. I'd rather have clean, constant air pressure than to be partially protected by the windshield and get turbulent air on my head. You won't know until you try them, though.
Legal on the streets riding for 45 years. Did have a couple fairing bikes when the wife toured with me for 10 years. She quit and I got rid of the fairing. The 2007 Road King Custom on my channel does have a windshield...it's only been on 3 times, maybe 4. I toured all over on an 883 Sporty in the 80s... so I've never gotten used to a windshield. It's all in what you get used to. For me, the only times I miss the windshield are heavy rain and if I gotta cross Kansas or something and it's 6 hours of 85 mph... but that's about it. T9 me that's the beauty of a removable windshield. ... best of both options for whatever you need.
Thank you for your valuable comments! Happy riding!
@Motortreadlands same to youm 🤜
I can easily detach/attach my windshield, best of both worlds. In the winter, it goes on.. in the summer, it stays home
Vstrom 650 rider here. The wind shield caused severe helmet buffeting and causing a howling noise in my helmet! Since I never had a bike with wind shield before I thought that might be the problem. Removed the wind screen, problem solved! The bike has fairings which seems to divert most of the wind any way. Only noticed a problem when it started raining once. A little rain is still way better than getting my helmet shook back and forth from buffeting! Cheers! 😃
I love my BMW K1200GT. The wind protection is awesome, it makes a lot of difference when it’s cold, I ride down to about 15°F (-10°C). Great bike for cross country touring. The wind protection is part of the style of the bike as well. I love my Moto Guzzi V7 Special with a small fly screen. It helps lift the wind so it doesn’t hit full in the chest. I also like taking it on cross country trips. I need an extra layer when it’s cold out, and may need to turn on my heated gloves. I love my BMW R Nine T, no wind protection. I will take it on long trips as well, and like the full force of the wind. Both the Guzzi and R Nine T would look as “off” with a big windscreen as the K1200GT would without one. Windscreen or no windscreen? Yes please, as long as I can ride.
Thanks for sharing your experience, it sounds like you have some great bikes!
Had a bee run into my neck, while riding my bike without a windshield. Got the stinger stuck and my neck began to swell up and HURT. First payday after THAT experience, I bought a windscreen. Never been without, at least a small one, ever since.
Thanks for sharing that, I've had a few close calls like that myself.
AI generated horseshit!
nothing like riding in a beautiful sunny day. No rain riding for me!
Riding in the sun is the best!
I used to ride and still hope to ride again. Love the video. Thanks!

Been riding 56 years without a windshield but now at 70 I use one for longer rides, really helps keep truck debri and heavy headwinds down. But for normal daily work, no windshield.
Thanks for your valuable comments. I'm an older rider too, and I love to hear from real motorcycle enthusiasts. More power to you! Ride safe and happy!

@@Motortreadlands Cool man...but just to say I am not a motorcycle enthusiast. I am a lifetime rider.
I have a CRF 300L and have used, and broken, 2 windshields. I am solidly behind the positives of a windshield. There is no downside in my opinion.

My previous bike, a Victory Jackpot, had a windshield. One reason I liked it was that it protected me from things flying into my face, even though I usually ride with a full-face helmet. I also still had plenty of air flowing into me to get that "outdoor" feel. Like the video says, do whatever works for you.

After fitting a back rest to my cruiser I find long trips more comfortable with no windshield. I guess what works for you is the way to go. Stay safe everyone.

ai generated script i bet LOL. listen to that narrator.
All the riders I know without a windshield, think 20 miles is a long ride. Try a 1000 and see what your answer is.....or 365 a year.

I live at the base of the Rocky Mountains and ride year round as long as I am not expecting ice and it is above 15°F (-10°C). This is my cut off point more because tire traction starts to drop off more than the cold. My sport touring bike has excellent wind protection, one of my bikes has a small fly screen, one has no wind protection. I would ride any of them on any given day. I try to get each bike out for cross country trips as every year. It is a different experience on each bike, but the presence of or lack of a windscreen doesn’t make much difference in my enjoyment of the ride. If anything, I lean towards the small screen over the large one. Sometimes with the large screen I get a some helmet buffeting that I don’t get on the other two. Keep the shiny side up
Rain and winter are painful . Still tough for an old rider but not as tough as I once was .

When I was younger. I would never consider a shield. After 50 years of riding. I much prefer to have one.

I had quite a journey windshield wise. My motorcycle used to have a medium sized windshield. To get less noise and maybe a little bit more comfort I fitted bigger aftermarket windshields and on top even an aftermarket windshield extension. It didn't work for me. In the end my solution was cutting down the original windshield to flyscreen size and mount it in the lowest factory setting. Suddenly there was next to no wind noise anymore and still some wind protection for the body.

Took mine off. Only miss it in the rain.
Thanks for your valuable comments. Same here, I love riding windshield-free but essential in bad weather. Ride safe and happy!

Could the ai voiced pronunciations be any worse?
Very very informative and also help safe a life.
And wear proper riding gear…like gloves 😇
Cool AI voice over bro... /s
IF Indian motor-companies adopt shaft-driven,it is life changing for motoringindia
Fjr1300 should be on this list

Sleek and sexy motorcycles❤❤❤
Lol goldwing... heavy turd grandpa bike
Take a look at the 2025 goldwing. The Harley Davidson roadking is equal in weight yet lacking in hp and torque at the base level. When you add a stage 3 for hp and torque, you are upwards of double the price. The goldwing set the standard for touring cruiser motorcycles. The newest goldwing has the sleek look of a superbike and the comfort of a luxury car.
No I’ve had bm’s with shaft drive, complex and in my case my gsa would need specialist tools to replace bearings, seals. After being quoted around £700 for a service I do it all myself since changing to triumph.
Number 1 BMW r1250r number 2 rocket 3.
GOOOZZI no - GUZZEE yes
You forgot the Suzuki C50 & M109R?
❤💙💚💛💓
Beautiful, sleek.and sexy
I own a 2008 Kawasaki Concours 1400 I bought new and still have it with 75,000 miles on it. (121,000 kilometres) In all that distance and time, I have done literally less than a half hour of my life maintaining the shaft drive. Change the gear case oil every second year and one quart / litre will be enough to do it twice with a little gear oil left over in the bottle. Chain drive is a constant money waster, aerosol cans cost $25 and cleaner the same plus grunge brushes and rags to clean your hands etc. The last chain bike I had recommended 10,000 kilometre oil changes and lube the chain every tank of gas. That means having to lube the chain 33 times per oil change. Ends up being more when it gets dirty and more again if you get caught riding in the rain. Motorcycle companies absolutely love chain drive, because it’s a dirt cheap and easy way to transfer power to the back wheel. It wastes your money and time to their benefit. They remove the centre stand to make it even more difficult to maintain the chain.
Been a while since cars had a chain final drive. I wonder why they changed to shaft drive... doh
Shadow better have like 100 lbs of torque with such weakass HP from 750cc engine
Where did you ordered the spoke wheels?
from Triumph
Triumph Rocket 3?
Yes, as well as the VMax 1200 and 1700
Absolutely no doubt shaft drive is better !
The sexiest and sleekest motorcycles are named🎉🥳
Harley Davidson, wow! Yes Honda is so common here in the Philippines
What sleek and sexy motorcycles they are ❤❤❤
Thank you for this video, so helpful!
I love this video! I was deciding what motorcycle to buy, now I know... Thanks for. sharing
