Walks and Hikes in GEIRANGER | Life in the NORWEGIAN FJORD

I FAILED! Winter Night hike in deep snow [ENG SUB]
มุมมอง 1997 หลายเดือนก่อน
We got a lot of fresh snow recently here in Tromso, so I decided for a night hike to the cabin. Unfortunately, I was not able to reach the cabin as the snow was too deep and walking became extremely difficult without skis or snowshoes. Next time I'll be better prepared. Also was testing new headlamp Fenix HM60R, which shoved to be a good choice.

I was dreaming about this hike for a long time. This part of Lapland is very special, so are the Finnish people I met on the trail. Also, the hut system is just simply amazing, making in possible to do this hike without needing to bring a tent with you. I will definitely be back (in winter time most likely). Kiitos.

Tromsø microadventure - can you have an adventure right from your doorstep?

Can you have an overnight adventure in the middle of the week? In this video, I spontaneously decided to go sleep outside after work. No vehicle used. Started walking from my home and after around 2 hours later, found myself next to a crystal clear lake, so that was my place for a night. That's a big plus to have sunlight 24 hours a day, you can do so much. :)

I imagine for someone like me, living in the northeastern US, the short twilight-only "days" would be a bit jarring at first, but nothing compared to living in Svalbard where it's pitch-black 24/7 and you have no day/night cues during December. And Tromso's climate is similar to ours (but with cooler summers). I think in Svalbard there's like 4 hours of astronomical twilight (which just means that you can't see the faintest stars when looking through a telescope that you'd be able to see in total darkness, which for most people is indistinguishable from night).

    • @martindohnal55
