Hey man great video I gotta question my truck has power locks do I still have too replace the bcm still
How do i re learn a key fob for it to work.. for instance i have an old set of a truck i use to own can i use that or dose the bcm and key fob have to be from same truck
So you ran all brand new harness to the doors to the BCM without running the orange cable and brown just plug and play ?
Did you get a air bag light after the bcm swap?
Did you figure out how to fix the airbag light?
Airbag modules under both seats need to be changed or rewired to the configuration for the BCM
I so wish you were my neighbor. I just bought a Kia and no power windows or door locks and I have to say, I am used to having those and they are super nice to have. You've figured a way how to fix these vehicles and add the "bells and whistles" to them. I wondered if all 2013 Kia Rio's have the same body control modules but the factory just leaves off the wiring harness for the electric doors and locks. You're making me wonder and ponder over here.
I have a 05 Yukon 1500. Parasite draw. Battery dies in a few hours. It really is different every time. I have noticed that my unlock on my driver's door play only works sometimes. I am unable to locate the door lock relays and fuse. I've read the manual I've been on other TH-cams.
Will this work for 99-02???

You have to get a bcm and airbag module from the same donor truck to fix that
Might just be my ocd but I did this on my truck but the lights only flash when I lock it not when I unlock it not a big deal but if you know what I did wrong lmk😂
U need to ad steering wheel controls to change the setting. Those were the last setting the previous owner set on your bcm
Thanks for sharing! The BCM is one of the most frustrating things they have ever done. I had trouble with my door locks and found that the aftermarket remote start and alarm system my son had someone put in had gone bad and was running the battery down and causing false alarms always. I took out the aftermarket stuff and then found that the BCM was either effected by the remote start or it had gone bad by itself. I bought a new BCM and then had to have a local shop program it and things have never been right since. The under dash and courtesy lights in the doors and the dome light don't work. I refuse to go back and pay for more programing when that should be something the owner should be able to do!

@@3rdsautoadviseandtips437 yes I programmed it with the knob and it goes off when I press the alarm but not when I double lock it
@@LaBurppa if you diagnostics scanner that does more than engine codes use it to check the BCM for codes and then clear them.

Your horn does not go off because that is what setting were set by previous owner of the donor truck bcm. To change that u need to add steering wheel controls
Does the BCM have to come from a single cab truck???
Hey bro I just did the conversion on my 04 single cab. How do I remove the air bag light and the “service airbag” message? The bcm i used came off a single cab 03-06
Bcm and air backmg module have to be swap and both have to come from the same truck

the power locks dont need to be from the same truck that had power locks? or do you need to pull a bcm and power locks from same truck?
Having an issue after swapping my BCM out. Installed, went to turn key truck started right up. Cut off, now it won’t start? Can’t get it to reset like you said?
You need to do the key relearn process
hey man after months i finally did what you said and it came out great the only thing is i can’t get it into the key fob learn mode since the lock should be getting power while it’s off
You have to have both power wires going to 12v constant not 12v acc
how do you connect the key fob since to do it the locks must work when the keys off
The door lock relays are for crew cabs (4 doors). 2 door trucks don't use relays for the door locks. Your videos came in very useful for me. Thank you.

@@pup734you need the smd module from the truck you got the bcm from its under the driver seat it’s for the airbags

Can you put 99-02 power doors on 03-06 for the conversion?
i was debating on just replacing my doors completely. I have an 2006 wt 1500 extended cab im going to replace all four dours i want power front . So i will need to take the controll modual from the doner truck along with the doors . Do i still have to add the orange constsnt power to both doors or will it work when i replace the modual without the orange wires
Did you have any problems with interior lights not coming on when the door is open after swapping bcm?
Honestly I probably did but not so sure. The BCM control all of them unless you got the wrong model BCM

What do you mean by under the driver seat airbag needs re wiring?
I cheated mine and instead of tapping into the thick red wire I tapped into the fuse box on the side where it has power. Only thing is idk how to get the locks to work when truck is off.
Yeah test that fuse to see if it's 12v constant? You might have cheated the locks out of power when key is off

How did you hook up the bose system?
There just the door panel in that truck. The green truck has the Bose system I installed. You will have to pull the center console with the sub in it. Also there's a harness that spider's up to the radio and to both pillars for the tweeters. It's plug and play on that.

Ok ran power to the orange wires dark brown to the green on the bcm was working fine then I changed the bcm to the doner truck to mine and it was still working then did the 3 10 min to reprogram and truck started but everything else stopped working
Everything was working before I reprogrammed it window locks alarm remote
@@bobbysaldivar190 if you have a scanner see if it has any codes for the BCM clear them and it will start back working and continue. Also if you get a airbag light change the module under passenger seat. Driver seat might require rewiring to work correctly.
I’ve been trying this swap with no luck I have a donor truck and I verified everything worked before I removed them. Everting works on the passenger side including the key fob from the donor but it seems the DDM on the base truck won’t turn on I probed the B12 wire on the BCM and it gets a pulsating signal so I went back to the base BCM just to see if I could get windows only but same issue just the pass window works and same signal from the b12 wire. Do you think this is a ground issue somewhere else they all seem intact. Light green b12 is hooked up as you showed to the dark brown at the door. Awesome info Btw good job.
Is DDM from the donor or ? Also do you have 12v power to driver door? I would check ground and possible the harness going threw the door
Yeah the ddm and harness were working on the donor truck when I took them off and there is power at the doors. I’ll go check the grounds again but they looked good.
Ok I figured it out. I bought a salvaged truck and got the power doors including power folding mirrors, BCM with FOB and power heated seats. I did verify everything worked but I bought the truck in AZ and brought all the parts to UT. Either during dismantling or transport the ground on the DD harness got damaged and lost ground. Anyway everything works including the folding mirrors and FOB. You are awesome thanks for your help. Now I just need to figure out the heated seats in UT the heated seats will be nice. Thanks again you’re great for posting this info.

There's a module under the passenger seat that needs to be swapped out with the seat the BCM comes from. Also the driver seat wiring for the seat air bag probably would need rewiring

Have you messaged me before?? Did you check if the window switch work? Did you wire 12v to the passenger side?
I just read where you were using a 04 suburban BCM you need a 03-06 extended cab or single cab BCM. Also check and see if you have the data bus link pin on the harness side from the truck. If not you will need to run a wire from the data bus link off the BCM to the passenger side.
Thanks for the reply, yes I got a new bcm same color you used I think is orange color code, and everything works power locks, power mirrors, but the window.. I used the switch from another truck I have and still nothing.. I went through the whole process again and found that the white plug from the door it has only pin for the tan wire.. but nothing for the blue? Idk if it makes sense
@@aldocabrera4944 run a wire from the data bus link at the B12 wire on the BCM to the tan wire on the passenger side and see if the window works

I’m currently doing this got a wreck single cab Silverado with power windows and locks. Everything is installed but the driver side don’t go down or lock a work but passenger side works. change bcm and all the harness and the whole dash harness of the donor security light comes on but at times
If you changed the whole dash harness yours should work correctly. I did a bypass of the "correct way" I don't know where you went wrong......

Is the parts you installed from 03-06? Did you make sure the window switches work before installing? Has all the wiring been done?
Hey @3rd's Auto Advise and tips can you help me out. so I did this swap about month and a half ago and it’s been working excellently. I was also able to program a aftermarket key fob from boost auto parts the 2014-2018 style fob. Anyway the only issue I have is the service air bag light comes on and stays on I always have to reset the message display so I can see my mileage. What might cause this to happen and how can I get the air bag system to work normal?
Airbag seat module and you will have to redo some wires on the harness or change the plug
@@3rdsautoadviseandtips437 are you talking about the module underneath the driver side seat mounted on the floor or the sensor for each individual Seat. And which one do I need to mess with?

So I just completed this on a 2005 Silverado WT 2500HD i recently bought added all the power components, wiring harnesses then a BCM everything is working like it should windows, locks, power mirrors and keyless entry! this is an awesome video!!!! I used a BCM from a 2005 tahoe works fine just getting a message "replace lifegate fuse" going to see if i can turn that off with HPtuners if not probably get a truck BCM thanks for posting this I loved the truck but was really missing the keyless and power windows. I installed everything and tried it with out swapping the BCM everything was working but the locks and windows was working with no key in the truck after the 30 minute BCM programing everything worked correctly!!! very happy thanks again!
how did you get the windows locks and mirrors and keyless entry to work with stock base model bcm?

What size wire did you use to run power from divers to passenger side ?
10-12 gauge

Correct but make sure to use brand new mirrors. The old tend to stop working if there older
Bro does this work on 99-02? Im currently manual. Fuckn hate it. People be asking me about my truck but i cant hear shit cuz i cant roll down passenger window 🤣
03-06/07 GM truck. For 99-02 is different.

It will. Just don't know if 4x4 controls will work if electronic.

Can you tell me what is the color wire from driver side harness for turn signals
Right behind the fuse box between the driver door there's a green wire and a yellow wire. The green is closer to the far back
