I love their clean, clear sound. It's hard to believe they're just high school students. And they're dancing at the same time. It's crazy. If you research a bit, you'll find that the performance level of many high school brass bands in Japan is among the best in the world. This is the wonderful performance I found. It seems to be from a while ago, but it seems to be a performance at halftime of the sports festival at Seika Girls' High School in Fukuoka, Japan. Thank you. But they didn't perform to their full potential. This time, due to the major rule changes made by the organizers, it is unfortunate and sad that the American audience was not able to see the true potential of Kyoto Tachibana High School. They didn't even perform half as well as they could at this festival, Disneyland, or the Rose Parade.

As the Master of Ceremonies stated the Kyoto Tachibana Senior High School Brass Band Club has been invited to March in the Tournament of Roses Parade in 2012, 2018 & 2025. The are named after the Mandarin Oranges that grow wild in and around Kyoto, Japan. Did you know they practice, including roadwork and yoga; Before and after school 360 days per year? Anyways, Kyoto = key - oto Tachibana = ta -Chi - Bana or tacky - bana. 🍊 🧡 🧡 🧡🍊. " Hey! "

I’m from Jackson MS and grew up across the street from their practice field in the 80’s. I loved laying in bed listening to them practice until midnight. They’re not known for their field performance, it honestly looks the same as it did in the 80’s and 90’s. They are known for their sound. They never disappoint in that category. The horns have such a distinct sound. Every generation sounds the same. You know the Sonic Boom from every other band. They will always be my favorite. You could tell they weren’t in the south because the stadium would have been packed 🎺🥁

Was this show based on set time? Cuz to do hella drills all year, and want to be the band of the year, come in with this show, was kind of weak. Dance routine, the same thing from the parade- y'all couldn't come up with a Field dance routine? Show was super elementary . Sound was super Great 👍🏽💪🏽💯 no flaws.

Love your reaction. I wish Southern had stayed longer. I think Jackson was prepared for a much longer battle. A real BoomBox 2 of two heavyweights. I love some of Southern’s arrangements, but they just are not ready for the Boom!!!!!

Karr Drum Majors are the best I’ve seen as far as high schoolers go. They’re not lazy at all and full of energy! Plus the band sounds great! They truly are second to none.
