I've been a musician all my life and actually made a living at it for a short time. My performing days ended, and honestly so did playing just for its own sake. A few years ago, I picked up this nice little electric grand piano and started to play again. I started missing performing, but had no desire to form or join a band, or to play on a street corner or anything, so a camcorder and a TH-cam channel gave me the outlet I needed.
Wish You Were Here
I tried adding strings, vocal choir and drums, but just didn't like it. Frustrated, I just played it, and I kind of like it just fine.

A beautiful song by Joseph Arthur, featured on the Acts album by RNDM. Thinking of cherry red.

A poignant number I first heard on House MD that popped into my head today for some reason, and wouldn't go away. So here it is.
wicked game

I'd done this one a year ago or so, but was never really happy with it. I like this one much better.

Heard this old little ditty on my shuffle walking back from the gym, and thought I'd sing it for y'all right quick like.
Can't Find my Way Home

I watched a video of Blind Faith debuting this classic live in 1969 and couldn't get it out of my head for three days. I finally covered it to see if that would break the spell. Hope you enjoy.

I've started watching House M.D. again, for probably the third or fourth time, and the soundtrack featured an Elvis Costello rendition of this magnificent Christina Aguilera song. I figured if Elvis can cover it, so can I.
River of Deceit

after 10 years of belting out vocals and trying to balance the volume on the keyboard with my voice, I decided to step up and get a microphone.

I've been wanting to do this song for a long time, but the falsetto bridge concerned me. I need not have been concerned: nailed it.

I voted today, in SC's Republican Primary, so I've got politics on the brain and wanted to talk to you about your ideology. Do you really know where you lie on the political spectrum? There's a very cool way to find out.

Beautiful Joseph ❤❤
@@PianoMatronNeeNee thank you so much. Very kind.
Great job covering the stones sounds really good. Thank you.
No, thank you! ❤
Joe, I studied with Bernie back in the 80’s I stumbled upon him at that little bar by dadeland that he used to play at I loved whar I heard and wanted to be able to do that.. I had never played piano but I tried it for 2 yrs. Finally he said to me “pilgrim, go do what you were born to do enough stalling” I went off and applied to vet school and got in… I never looked back but I also never forgot Bernie, the keys to jazz and that guys sound. You carry it with you! So cool you started a channel and it’s one of the only links to Bernie on the internet! Can you play Billy Joel’s root beer rag. He did that one like no other if you learn it… then you’ll really be channeling BJ! Thanks for playing satin doll brought back lots of memories for me. Karen Rabin, dvm.
@@karenrabin989 that's so cool! What a small world. He had a gift. Thank you for commenting

@@josephherrera111 Your voice is great, for real
@@get_born_again_95I remember doing this one. I wasn't sure I could hit the high notes at the end. Chris's voice was so strong.
@@josephherrera111 yeah, he was an exceptional vocalist
Nice! Radiohead is sensational
Thank you. I read the story of the song and it's a trip to think they hated it!

Love that song. Sounds good!
Thank you. I do too. Tragically beautiful.
What are your thoughts on RFK Jr? He is who ill be voting for
I actually agree with a lot of his positions. The thing that confuses me about him is his anti-vaccine position. It makes no sense and he has no background or education or expertise in the area. Of course, independent candidates have essentially zero chance of winning.
@@josephherrera111 I understand your points thank you for the response. I agree on your vaccine point, but man if everyone who held your views voted for RFK Jr. instead the 2 evils already presented, he would be elected. I encourage you to try to keep an open mind and do some more research on him. I can confidently say that if RFK Jr. was put on a debate stage with Donald Trump and Joe Biden America would know the winner.
This is awesome!
Thank you
Awesome bro
that was good Joseph, you picked a good song bravo!

Good job, its a hard song to sing!!!
We are from parallel universes lol
Ha! Ok, well, I'll let you know what I find out if you're interested in how the story ends! Since I'm mostly a bass player, maybe I'll return the Yamaha and save 100.00 by going with the Alexis. To be continued...
I played bass myself in my first few bands as a young lad before I got enough money up to buy a Hammond Organ.
I bought mine at Sam's Club for 199 a few weeks ago but haven't opened it. I'm scouring the reviews to see if I can get midi data into my DAW using the USB port. Or is that strictly for transferring tracks as audio files? Nice choice with the Tragically Hip song, btw. Today I also bought an Alesis Melody 61 at Wal-Mart for 99.00 that seems to be well-reviewed, too. But I know that USB is only for playing mp3s from a flash drive.
Most of that sounds like a foreign language to me. :-) I can play it but I'm not well versed in the tech side.
Saw your review of this piano on amazon, so thought I would check it out. This is great, thanks!
I forgot I'd done a review over there! It's a great keyboard and I'm still surprised by the price. I've done quite a bit with it and it's got more capacity. Thanks for coming by!
I love this song my grandpa used to play it all the time
Nice
