Thank you for posting this.😀 I am so homesick for Pembs.😪 You video made me feel like I was home again. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 My route generally took me from Waterloo Road in Hakin, to Little Newcastle, sometimes via Little Haven, which is a lovely place for both a picnic & a swim.

I bought my first Unison pastels over 20 years ago. I've owned multiple full sets. I use them in abstract drawings, watercolor/mixed media and figure drawing. Very beautiful product.

I love Unison pastels and their rich colours make them look sumptuous enough to eat. Such a calming video, too.

OK, but what's the brand of the professional paint?

Got my first box of unison as a Christmas present to myself, oh boy, they're good and the colours! My normal medium is watercolour so I just had to mix them with water on the paper and now I'm experimenting with dry and wetted pastel. Thank you.

Avoid using water unless you are blocking in a very thin first coat or cleaning the brushes. Winsor & Newton Artisan paints have their own mediums you can purchase that can also be cleaned up by water. Linseed oil, stand oil, impasto and thinner that can ALL BE CLEANED UP BY WATER. I'm blown away by that. The mediums are modified to be cleaned up by water so buy the special Artisan mediums. Don't use the regular stuff or you're going to need to clean your brushes like every other oil painter. W&N needs to yell this out because it took me ages to find out about it.

Is the pigment used in W&N Cotman paint alizarin "hue " lightfast? Not sure if it's the same as permanent alizarin or different. Thank you!

Thank you, for your wonderful video about how you create Unison pastels. I purchased my starter first set of 16 half sticks and what a joy to use. I love that each stick is hand made with such care and the colors fresh and bright.

By far the best introduction to priming a canvas. Too many of the American videos here on TH-cam were long-winded. One even mentioned unscrewing the lid on the pot of acrylic gesso!
