I'm not an expert on this subject; however, it seems that Chevelles are rare. You don't often see them. I'm a C8 Corvette driver, and even I'm impressed with the way this Chevelle pulls.

High stall converter helps the rpm’s climb fast. Definitely sounds great and responsive too.

i own a '70 LS6/M22 car, 12 bolt with 4:88 gears. i bought it in june of 1981, it is still in storage. i drove it approx. 200 miles.

Any way you look at it that is a FAST car. In 1968 I purchased a slightly used 67 SS 396 350 HP Chevelle that had 410 gears with a 4 speed trans. With the cut-ou's open and cheater 7" slicks my best time was 12.56 @108.xx MPH at Englishtown Raceway Park, NJ on a Wed night. The car would run in the 13's all day long

A guy I knew bought an LS6 Chevelle in May of 1970 from Iten Chevrolet in Brooklyn Center Minn. He paid $3843 for it. He had a company truck so he hardly ever drove it. He got married and then the oil embargo hit in 1973 and the prices for muscle cars dropped through the floor. I bought the car in early 74 and it had 11,000 miles on it. I still have it today it's part of me and my wife's auto collection. It just turned 28,000 miles last Saturday night. When I decide to blow the Spyders out of the pipes I also power shift it.

I think it's funny how most transmissions will do about 57mph at 7k rpms in 2nd gear (give or take) but if they made second slightly longer you could hit 60 in second and save a pretty decent .2 - .3 seconds on your 0-60 in a manual

If you had a good ear it made the power shift a win. Matching RPMs. The rear gear was also in the mix. When right, it was sweet. Top RPM in 4th crossing the line

With the way that thing snaps the revs, it must have one heck of a loose convertor.
