Although her latest albums don't hit me the same way, they are still great. Of my top 6, not a single song is a skip and that's truely an amazing feat imho. I love how we all rank them differently because they each speak to us differently! 🖤

In my opinion, her music is more powerful when you pay more attention to the lyrics. In dear john and last kiss especially, her ability to make you feel the way she felt during that time shows her song writing talent. I agree that sonically this album doesn’t have her most impressive songs. However, this album is more loved amongst fans for story telling and confessional song writing. I think that you should try listening to 1989 to hear her most sonically cohesive album. For more in depth lyrics, I recommend Red or evermore.

Fun fact: Mean won a Grammy. She dated John Mayer around this time and wrote the songs Dear John, The Story Of Us (they ran into each other at an awards show and he gave her the cold shoulder) & Ours is about John Mayer. You should check out the OG version of Better Than Revenge. She wrote the song after her ex Joe Jonas left her for an actress named Camilla Belle. Jonas wrote a song called Much Better saying his new girl Camilla is much better than Taylor. Long Live is a song for her band and fans. Never Grow up was inspired by her godson who was born around this time. Haunted, Enchanted, Sparks Fly, Better Than Revenge, Story Of Us are my favorites off Speak Now Taylor’s Version

I hope you will do more TSwift reactions. The most important thing to know is that Taylor’s music ranges over several styles and genres (pop, country, folk, alt, indie, rock, and all possible hyphenated combinations of these). Other things to keep in mind: I can almost guarantee that, after a few listens, some of her songs - especially her slower (“boring”) ones will grow on you. I was initially bored by a bunch of her songs that, now, are among my favorites. After you listen to a few more of her albums (and see some of her live-performance and music videos), you should re-visit the songs that you say you’ll “never listen to again” because a few of those will hit you in a completely different way. And, speaking of live performances and music videos, I cannot stress strongly enough how important it is to see some of those if you want to understand the “TSwift phenomenon.” Since you were bored by some of the Speak Now songs, I would suggest investigating her Reputation album next. It will provide a stark contrast to what you’ve just heard. When possible, I suggest reacting to both live-performance and music video versions, when possible. 1. Boys for Pele: Not just my favorite Tori album, but one of my all-time favorites, period. This album really clicks with me. 2. To Venus and Back: I love the mood this album gives off. Lust, Suede & Spring Haze are favorites. 3. Under the Pink: Icicle thru Yes, Anastasia is one of my favorite stretches. Baker Baker too. 4. From the Choirgirl Hotel: Mostly good. But a few misses in my book. 5. Scarlet's Walk: Her last really good album to me. Lots of good songs here. 6. Little Earthquakes: Not much to say. Good album. 7. ... And the rest. Some good songs on every album, but I rarely listen to them end to end.

Wow you're so lucky to have got into Tori through Strange Little Girls. Not gonna lie; I was 13 too when it came out, but it was Scarlet's Walk that got me into her. However, if my memory serves me well, I had heard her songs before that. Back in the day, my local music TV channel (in Shanghai, China) played Silent All These Years quite a lot, and to this day, it remains one of my favourite songs of all time. A couple of Mandarin artists also covered it, including Faye Wong (王菲), who's very famous in Asia for her otherworldly soprano voice.

Lovely to bump into a Tori fan on YT. Thanks a million for the unboxing video. My favourite album from her has always been Little Earthquakes, but recently I've been revisiting Scarlet's Walk, which is gradually taking over that number 1 spot in my heart. I only have Scarlet's Walk in the digital format. But I've noticed that Holland label, Music on CD, has re-released this CD in 2020. I've recently spotted that Amazon Japan has this CD to offer. And considering it's close to where I live, I might secure my copy from there, with some other records of my interest. Btw, as I'm typing this, Crazy is being played on my PC. My affection for this song is nothing but humongous.

Same with Scarlet's Walk. 18 songs and no filler. At least 14 incredible hits, tied with evocative themes an a great atmosphere. A triumph and also my most listened album ever.

My top three are her first three, in that order. I would not rate scarlet that high at all, While I like the album, (like Amber, Vegas, Taxi, Fairy Tale, ..., I find it repetitious, drawn out, and it has a similar sound throughout. Her first three were magic! I started with Earthquakes when it came out in the 90's. Yeah I'm old. Over 30 years later I still listen and sing to her music almost every night. My voice range almost matches hers, though I have lost some of my high notes as I get older. I'm in my 50's now. Also retired bass player. Tori will forever be my favorite musician. And I was in a metal band. I'm surprised, you like Strange little girls that much? It was her Label "contract" rebellion album, to skirt her contract without actually giving them any of 'her' music. They really screwed Tori then, I wish that never happened, cause I think we missed out on some good music when she was still young and vibrant. Tori is a Blessing! Her Piano and voice is just something else. Edit: I posted this comment because I truly believe you understand Tori, and i can tell you love her music. I just think your missing her magic with your choice, Have you read her books? You ever watched "Tori Amos piano shopping 1992"? A quirky documentary. I think she was a bit tipsy in that shoot. I loved it.

I think as collectors we should be patient and don't buy bootlegs, this record was just released officialy on vinyl.

Can never understand the dislike for y Kant Tori read,even Tori herself hated it, don't get me wrong it's not a masterpiece,but it's not awful either ....it's a grower .

So much to say, but I'm just gonna say, that I absolutely love Strange Little Girls. I adored the booklet too. It's a also a very personal album for me.
