The resurrection of a third generation family speed shop. We have been building things that run better, and go faster since our grandfather started here in 1966 . Come along with us as we transform this forgotten shop, not only building our customer's dreams, but our dreams as well.
M6GT Chassis Material Testing | Testing Lab Day
Exciting day in the lab! We were able to film a little of the setup on how we are testing the base material of our M6GT chassis. We are extremely fortunate to partner with Advanced Facture Mechanics in order to bring real yield/fatigue data to the project! This is one part of our 4-part testing profile for the car's aluminum chassis.

Been fascinated by the M6GT since I was a kid. Back then I first came across the kit known as the Manta Montage (utilized a Chevy citation drivetrain)and one other kit of it. The look of the car is beautiful and timeless, holds up to anything today. I was blown away to see it in the tv show Hardcastle and Mc., it was beautiful to see under the Vegas lights in front of a hotel. Watched Stacey's show for years, he does nice work. The last two "kits" he's built are spectacular. Your M6 he's working on now, from a engineering standpoint, appears to be a cut above. I hope that your company does great. The larger cockpit version of the M6 would be a welcome thing, though I know Bruce was thinking from a different perspective at the time. Best hopes on this current endeavor gentleman, many thanks to your family for loving this car.
I feel ya!
Brit triumph guy here, I'd use an overdrive 'box before a 5 speed. O/D's are cool to use (no clutch needed to engage). Also came here for T5 engine change :)
This introduction was absolutely needed. Enthusiast need to know who you all are! Great marketing!!
Thanks for the kind words! Happy New Year!
Make sure if you are doing this to an LH 2.4 car, you keep the engine at Top Dead Center and maintain the flywheel position in relationship to the starter. If you rotate the flywheel notches away from the starter, the engine will not start and you will have to pull everything off again.
Interesting, never heard of this! We did mark the flywheel pulling it off so this one is good. But top-tip for others! Thanks.
One thing I learned was to do an interference angle. 1 degree difference between seat and greater angle on valve. Creates better seal. Usually just in intakes.
What a blast from the past! My buddy and I used to hang out at Rick's shop on saturdays just watching him work. He was always so friendly. My buddy had a Jeep that Rick did some roll cage and exhaust work on and I had a Cougar that he put the exhaust on. I saw his Nova when he first bought it and watched him build it to completion. That thing was and still his mind blowing. Thank You!!!
Thank you for the great story!
Nice, I'll bet a guy could use a yoke on end for wrench adapter. Thinking if big nut was reverse threads would it stay on? Would 10.000 lbs gvcw sustained use be ok,?
Can you make this in right hand drive?
Since the car will be sold in kit form, yes the goal is to make sure if someone wanted one they could set it up that way. They may have to try and get a correct rhd steering rack but there shouldn’t be much else that would have to change!
Coming along nicely!!
That it is!
Its looking great guys.
Thanks! We appreciate it!
merry x mas and happy new years!! i,ll come visit this spring in my zl1
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you as well! Come on by!

Shit you talk allot….
Can’t wait!!!!
Me neither! 😂
Sounds wicked!
Thanks! It sounds like nothing else!
Do headers not fit?
Something can always “fit” with some work, however to not modify the frame-rails and to get past steering shaft there is very little room.
@Retroformance which brand? Is that some kind of ramshorn? I'm just starting a 4.0 to LT in a '94 xjs
Wow!
It's a riot!
When you say “McLaren M6 GT” You mean like, the one Bruce designed Right
Yes, we are building a modern replica of the car on our chassis platform.
@ oh boy
Sickkk
I think in honor of the Coyote, I'd wanna build one with the Porsche 930 engine. 😉 (RIP Brian Keith)
Just a chassis for 30k is high as a giraffes arse
Wow I’ma do this 😈😈😈 Th is BroThA ….
"glass already looks frosted" literally typing this as you said it....🤣
Love the appreciation for the old shop! 😂
O.....YOU....SEXY....MUTHA.....F&(%ERS.....!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have dreamt of this car since September 18, 1983........AND YOU'RE LESS THAN AN HOUR FROM ME?!?!?!?!? Gimme a Vulcan minute....I'll be right down to check out my new project!!!
Bahahahah you dont even get a full car for $30k us that’s definitely a fail for the average person you should be shooting for a complete running car that is upgradable for $30k cad that is obtainable for the average person what your offers is horse shit
@@dreambiggarage not for the average man!!
How is this obtainable the cost is way to high to be obtainable for the average person kinda a fail
We will wait for you to design, develop, test, manufacture and produce a nice mid engine kit car that has everything worked out for you. Cant wait to see it!
Why are the final videos of this series missing from your channel?
DUDE YOU NEED TO DO A BURNOUT IN THAT 🥰
Haha I wish, not worth the clutch replacement 😂
@@Retroformanceespecially not from Ferrari probably a few thousand dollar clutch from them
And time to take it all apart 🫠
@ lol one burnout never hurt a clutch! It’s just the break in procedure 😂😂
Im super excited to see some body panels go on.
We are too! SOON...
oh man side fuel tanks, the good ol days of dying from side impacts :P this thing looks like a really cool project
They will eventually be bladders! Thanks, it’s been a wild ride so far!

@@beambreaker5907 thanks for the kind words!
beautiful work! sounds amazing, looking forward to seeing this built
@@beambreaker5907 thank you!
AWESOME!!!!
1985 white forks give it away...
Thanks for the tip!
why go with an american t5 tranny? just get a ZF/getrag tranny from a BMW so much better. hell put a 8hp or a DCT on it
Super exciting
DUDES!!! Sickkkkk
Finally! Looks like i need to save some money
We are trying our best to bring it at an economic pricepoint!
Any unusual sounds / vibration on deceleration? There are pages of these issues with this swap and I was curious of your experience.
Thanks for the question! So far, zero noises or vibrations. If the owner brings something up, we will be sure to comment.
Nice hat! She sounds awesome!!
We love our merch! Thanks!
Nice work men!
Congrats!
Thanks! It was a sigh of relief!
Awesome!!! Great job guys!! Something special you got going on there
Thanks boss!
Eureka!
No M6GT ever used DCOE's!
Well this one will
How do you know Bruce wouldn't have used them on production cars? 🤷♂ They were good enough for Ferrari.
