I’m about to replace an engine on my 2005 tundra but the engine is seized. In this case I would have to pull the transmission with it, correct? Anybody have a link to some forum threads on this, or 2UZ-FE engine replacement in general?

Just pull motor out leaving torque converter attached?? Much easier.

Gotta tell ya, you should have mentioned it was a 2004 model. It's pretty unlikely it is relevant for working on my 2015. Nevertheless, it was good to see you doing it without taking the dash apart.

Too much work. I just slide under, half inch rachet with 22mm socket to hold and spin crank bolt/balancer and zip all bolts off. Should only take 5 minutes lol.

So you basically removed it from the bottom through the fender liner by removing the crankshaft pulley? Do you need a special tool to remove and torque the bolt?

If you use a t20 torx low profile wrench (like the carlyle SDSLPH5) you can use that on the really hard to get screw. Also helped to have the battery disconnected after aligning the actuator shaft so it didn't move unexpectedly

Did you support the engine in some way before removing the engine mount?

Disclaimer: Don't try this at home. Another way you could do this is by making or buying a pair of dummy cells that will simply pass the current through them and then using just one 3.7V 10440 cell in the stack-up. I checked my current 3xAAA light and it still works at 3.6 volts, so it should still function fine with the single 10440. My only concern would be with the lack of a battery protection circuit in there. Might want to store the flashlight without the cell in it for this reason, or even get more sophisticated with your design and solder the battery protection circuit in there yourself.

Forgive my ignorance, in the video you referenced manufacturer specs for removing the engine. Where do I find these? Is it in the owners manual? Just bought a 03 sequoia. Previous owner said it needed o2 sensors. I think the engine has skipped time and may need to replace the engine. Thank you.

They are pure rubbish. Luckily here in SE Asia they sell for around $2.50. In the half dozen or so I have had 3 were DOA, the others lasted a couple weeks. Save your time and money.

Great video!! Did you ever end up doing the 4 x AA conversion to Lipo4? I have a LoRa (long range) sensor that is attached to siren as part of a DIY Homekit carport security system. The 4 x AA battery slots seem to be wired serial providing about 90 to 150mA at standby (less that 1 w) and up to 6 volts in the rare cases that is it powering the 12v siren. When I use the USB dummies or when I put in 4 x NiCd rechargeables though, I get battery sensor warnings in my security system that have 25% life left in the batteries. When I use brand new regular Energizer batteries I tend to get a reading of only about 80% life reading as well due to the lower 1.2 volts per battery. I'm wanting to replace the 4 AAs with something 1. rechargeable and 2. that provides about 1.5 volts per battery (but not low 1.2v like the NiCd rechargables ) so I will not get the warnings that my battery is low. Have any ideas or links on how to do this? Thanks!! UPDATE: AmpTorrent PRO 1.5 reachable Lithium AA’s (the kind that require the separate charger) have been great for my low powered but constant 1.5v x 4 IOT uses!
