Did a search fo rthe other dies as you mentioned. 201 15mm snap die set" - Did the other dies come from "uxell " ?? So ONLY a dies set that THREADS in the Press is the CORRECT dies set - I gather ?? Any links that you could share would be great, THanks You made a GREAT DEMO of the whole press process. ( I had been using the cheap HORRIBLE FRIGHT kit ( total crap ) THANKS AGAIN
Thanks for watching and the comment. I wish it was as simple to list the links but the listings change over time to where it would be a dead link. On ebay the sellers I bought from the names were "wisetitan" (which I purchased the s spring snap die sets from) and a seller named "perfectdeal_usa" ( I purchased the 201 15 mm snap die set ) and the Amazon buys for the rest and rivet die sets . The die sets have one threaded die that goes in the top of press and the other just seats into the bottom of the press. I hope that helped answer some of your questions and once again thanks for watching and leaving a comment!

Oh ok then it is not a new one then . It may be one that was still made in u.s.a. but after they stopped using serial numbers. I think it was late 80s early 90s they stopped putting the serial numbers on the knives.

No I sure don't. Have not found a cheap set online yet. But they probably exist somewhere haha.
Oh by the way I assume you mean by tubular rivets that are asking about the rivets with 1 cap and other side is crimped w/ splash anvil.
I have one passed on to me from my Dad. It has AX prefix as it’s serial number, any idea of the year of manufacture? How do I find out it’s history?
Hey, you could try searching the internet and come across blogs with knife collectors talking about the lb7 dates from the serial numbers. It is kind of hard to come across clear information that seems like everyone agrees 100% on the dating of the knifes. But I believe after some research your knife is probably early 80s most likely but I'm not positive.

Just found your channel this evening. Been watching some of your videos and and I like what I'm seeing. Trying to come up with the best option for a clicker press and I saw your video on the Harbor Freight press. I like how you used the ground pounder for the top plate. I haven't seen that one but it's a great idea. I make a lot of wallets and other items but it's all hand cut and stitched. I like hand stiching but the cutting by hand is getting old lol. I am curious about what you did for the finish you put on for the outer of this wallet. I get the candle wax, great idea btw, but what was the other substance? I'm gonna guess and say crisco. Nice job!
Close guess on crisco but it is actually lard. And yeah I still do a bunch of hand cutting on pieces I usually create a pattern from cardstock and if I use the pattern enough I then will cut the pattern from thicker acrylic sheet and cut the pattern straight from that instead of tracing it out on the leather then cutting. The cutting dies can get very time consuming to make or expensive to buy so cutting by hand is one of my main ways I cut leather. A great knife from a great company that is now gone. Taylor Groug "Schrades" are Chinese copies and a sacrilege to the heritage of true Schrade knives.

I do believe I've read that before in knife blogs. People were debating on which came first. Who copied who (buck vs puma). I personally don't own any puma knives.

Very nice. I'm betting it's 70's vintage if there are no 'alphas' in the serial #. The blade shape looks like the early LB7s too. The spacer spring might indicate a more recent vintage. My earliest LB7s have flat springs and the 80s+ vintage have a rod spring like the Bucks.

If you take a strong magnifying glass look at the part that is sharpen ,you be able to tell why Buck is the better knife !!! Better steel...

Swapped out pined ebony for meh unpinned antler. Pass. The contrast between the brass and the ebony looks better anyway.

Excitedly bought this planer. Used on piece of wood that had a bit of metal in it. Broke the blade , bend the planer head ; 4 passes and into the garbage. Parts cost as much as a new one.

Great video. I don`t know if you ever will read this, but how did it perform over the years? any long term quality issues? I'm interested in this particular model because it is the easiest one to convert into a makeshift thikness planer, but i've seen reviews about overheating and stuff. I would immensely appreciate any input.
Thanks! It has worked great. It is not something I use constantly but I do use it a few times yearly. I made a frame to attach it upside down to use as a jointer and it runs continuously while I run boards through it and it has not ran hot ... Not saying it couldn't happen but it has ran fine.
