I Caught This TROPICAL looking Perch on the Oregon Coast! Jetty Fishing
มุมมอง 36ปีที่แล้ว
Catching striped perch, losing fish and breaking poles lol
100 ft wave does not include over spray. So misleading.
Sorry, breaking waves I guess your right
Some good lings and black snapper down there when water is low and slow in summer... A guy I met fishing was down there on edge one summer, warned not to fish at a spot there, but he knew everything of course. Sneaker swept him in. He was yelling for us to jump in to save him we declined said you are on your own. He fished in just shorts, sandals, and really drunk. After a few attempts of him swimming another rise in water and wave planted him on the side of rocks against the barnacles. We went to help pull him out but failed first attempt and he fell back in. Another wave did the same thing and this time we got him. He had hundreds of cuts from the barnacles as he only wore shorts. Ol Terry came back up to a safer area to fish and acted as if nothing at all happened as he stood there and bled quite a bit from hundreds of deep scratches head to toe. Craziest stuff I ever saw.
@@GoldChump Dam, some people don’t get it. I’m something of a risk taker myself but I wouldn’t play games with that spot! I’ve caught some nice fish at the very end thanks for the tip
Those were HUGE! I hope they moved the sands around and exposed some nice agates up and down the coast.
That guy in the kayak is insane
Great video
What a crock of sh!t!!! 100 ft waves?! Really bud? That's not even an exaggeration It's just straight up lying! Why can't people just post a video with an accurate title/thumbnail instead of trying to mislead everyone? I'll bet that for your gold panning videos, you bury some gold and then act like you find it in for the video right?
Very beautiful area
@@kennethgreene7124 indeed
Nice catch, man!
Thanks
Nice. Did he tow you around at all when you were reeling it in? Whenever I caught a decent trout in our small raft I always enjoyed getting towed around
No because I was anchored and he wasn’t big enough. I plan to go back next week because they are stocking 3000 trophy trout here!
@@ExtremeCoastAdventures holy crap, good luck 🤞🍀
That is a nice one!
I used to collect sand shrimp, and sell them to the bait shop in Empire when I was about 10 years old. That bait shop no longer exist and it’s 47 years later.🤣
That’s funny. I remember hearing about people selling them locally when I was a kid around that time too.
Hi Kevin, I just discovered your channel and I'm subscribing. A few tips from a seasoned crabber; Make sure all of your loops are fully open and facing upward (makes a huge difference). You need to get the rig out past the breakers (crabs hunker down in that part of the surf so they're not eating. I wear waders and walk out as far a I can with a 1 foot safety margin so the waders don't flood. When retrieving the rig, don't jerk it like you're setting a hook, you'll pull the cage out from under most crabs... Instead, start reeling slowly to take up all slack then then reel hard and or walk backwards. The bait and weight set up looks spot on.. sometimes I even put a weight inside the cage to help right it when it settles. This should get you some results and if it works then you can pass on the info.. Happy Crabbing and I look forward to watching your videos.
@@mikebartoli4755 Right on! Appreciate it man! Yeah the surf is much different and haven’t had any luck compared to the bay.
Those are some pretty cool carvings. I've done a few myself. Just made a stump and a couple blocks of wood into mushrooms. Got a chainsaw attachment for my grinder and use that for the most part. It's very dangerous and sketchy to use though
@@kennethgreene7124 Sounds like my kind of fun.
What rod and reel do you use?
@@justlooking839 Nothing fancy yet, just a 7ft ugly stick and Shakespeare coffee grinder
Love me some fresh crab. The docks we grabbed off in Newport my whole life they closed to the public 😮💨. Now we have to find a new spot
@@kennethgreene7124 what! That sucks

@@kennethgreene7124 That’s such BS! Sorry to hear that. I find jetty’s can be good for snaring but wouldn’t toss pots.
Next time you'll get keepers.
Well done love that rig set up and it worked nice one bro 👌
Nice day out there at the Coast, and you didn't get skunked, you got one crab that was cool. You ever thought about doing a catch and cook?
@@jasond6770 Could be good! Might do a catch and cook with some gold panning on the side. Thanks for stopping by!
@@ExtremeCoastAdventures 👍
Great video nice crab looked like a hard shell to bad it was under sized
@@woodchuck243 Thanks, burned to much time at the beach but wanted to try it out. I have a few other good spots.
The smaller mouth of the greenling was probably the reason you weren't hooking the bites.
What size braid and leader do you fish with? 🙂✌️🏆
@@2HighNoon yep and pearch. Which is rather not catch either “to eat”.
@@2HighNoon I’m in the process of switch up to 50lb braid and 20 lb leader
Awesome adventure. Just put 7 salmon in my boat at Winchester Bay this week
Right on! I’m gearing up
I love jetty fishing.
Me too, nothing like it.
Very nice. I do love me some bobber fishing when the weather allows it. Something about watching the bobber jump and go down that gets the blood flowing 👍
@@kennethgreene7124 I know right! I haven’t seen a bobber go down in years! I’m primarily a bottom guy but sometimes the bobbers are deadly… I can’t wait to get back to this lake. and loving to finally be able put my “Gold” Kayak to use. 😂 Thanks for following my channel Kenneth!
I've been in weeds like that. I fish the same way or just dangle my worm off the side of the raft.... Very sorry to hear about your brother. That's horrible. Very dangerous job
@@kennethgreene7124 Thanks, a lot of suspicion around his death. He had plenty of enemies and hung out with a rough crowd. It happened with some “friends” on a skiff while drinking.
@@ExtremeCoastAdventures dang. That's terrible
Hell ya!
@@Goldpan-SuntanNM Thanks for Subscribing!
Beautiful weather out there! Nice fishing spot! Glad you caught that nice trout; I think you need to go back and revenge on those bass that got away! 😉
@@jasond6770 Yep I’m going back but shooting for morning or evening next trip. Trying a few different techniques. Glad you liked it!
I used to catch a lot of really nice Crappie off that dock you launched from. Before it got socked in with weeds.
@@oregoncollector3727 That’s exactly what another friend was telling me yesterday!
Not a bad day at all. Hope you get a fat cod on the next trip👍🤞
@@kennethgreene7124 it’s coming!
Very hard fishing that pond bro 👍
@@chambochambers8906 yeah not what it used to be!
Always a better day when you catch a couple nice 👍👌
You got that right!
Sweet! Looks like you had a nice day out there! Beautiful weather. Nice fish. Thanks for taking us along Brother.
@@jasond6770 Had a blast finding a new fishing spot that actually has fish instead of crabs. I was on the wrong side of the jetty before! Thanks for watching and commenting Jason!
THANKS FOR SHARING WHAT A GREAT TOOL👍👌
Right on!
Still a pretty decent fish 👍
@@kennethgreene7124 Thanks, it was definitely unexpected. At first I thought it was a sucker fish. They get much larger here and catfishing at night is the best way. Maybe down the road.
@@ExtremeCoastAdventures when I was a kid my dad would take us to a pond near by at sunset and we would cast a line and then tie it to a branch. Then we would come back in the morning and have channel catfish every time
Pretty cool fishing spot. Looks a hair dangerous to fish the by yourself though. Don't kill yourself trying to get a big fish up that cliff😅
@@kennethgreene7124 Definitely need to watch your step! We keep it Extreme!
NICE 💪👍
Keep getting out there. You'll have to try the boobber next time.
Not a bad hual at all

TIGHT LINES BRO 🐟🐠🦈
@@chambochambers8906 appreciated
Never fished the ocean, so that was the first time I've seen a kelp greenling- pretty cool. Nice hike out there, that video made it look like you were right on the edge a few times.
@@jasond6770 Indeed I was in the edge, it’s very sketchy out here and people get stranded sometimes. That’s why I found another trail away from the cliff lol. But while fishing, there is no choice, but to be on the edge. Part of the thrill! This is EXTREME COAST ADVENTURES! Thanks for watching bro!
Nice another video; watching now Bro!
Love me some fishing 🎣 👍
@@chambochambers8906 Hey Chambo thanks for swinging by! New video out in a few minutes
Sweet! Nice spot you have there. Looks like you were the only person out there. Even better.
@@jasond6770 Hey thanks for checking out my second channel! Yeah my step dad showed me this spot when I was a boy and it’s one of a few places to get all the sand shrimp you want. They cost $7-$10 dozen at the little markets to buy! It’s quite the work out though, I cut out about an hour of pumping lol
