These ladies are making peach compote. We put the fruit into the jars. Then, we add boiled and cooled water, in which sugar has been dissolved, to the jar containing the fruit. We pour the sugar into the water, but in this video, since the sugar has already been dissolved in the water, you don’t see the sugar. In our compote, to prevent cancer and diabetes, we add little or no sugar.
Are these ladies making makings some kind of jam or what ?
Unfortunately, we don't have a jar sealing machine. We boil the jars in water for half an hour to seal them. However, sometimes they break, or we think they are sealed but later find out they've gone bad and end up throwing them away. What method do you use for sealing?
