Imagine coming back from being split up for SEVERAL fucking years and when you DID split up you were on the cusp of possibly making another omega masterpiece with The Divine Malevolence in the 2000s (God [or Satan I guess lol or fucking RA lmfao] only knows what became of that material) when you already had very arguably the most perfect discography the metal genre will ever see (All 3 early releases are in my top 100 discs ever) and then after ALL that time and such INCREDIBLE work to follow up with you drop a Nile meme album that, while solid throughout and CLEARLY has compositional/stylistic elements in common with The Vehemence, is lightyears away from cracking a slot on that list and is completely devoid of the types of unique dramatic harmony and inspiring and unique as fuck chord progressions and melodies and longform song structures that made you special in the first place and you delete your social media without a fucking word and vanish to the wind after saying in an interview once "Ah yeah we'll do a next album for it we'll be going back to Nightspectral vibes a bit more" Im done pretending like in retrospect this album wasn't a massive disappointment when Im probably one of the few people in the world who can say without bullshitting that the early material of this band is my biggest influence as a musician by a MILE AND A HALF and completely reshaped how I compose and listen to music.

We are very much enjoying the end times, and fuck me if it's not the perfect, most appropriate and soothing soundtrack.
