I wish I could have met John Lee. His recordings taught me to sing and play deep powerful blues. He was one of a kind.
Flat__--wounds🎉
I had the honour not only of meeting Mr Johnnie in Clarksdale in 1993, but he kindly gave me a guitar lesson. He told me I should get myself a metronome, (which I now have on my iPhone)! He did so much great work with the kids from around Clarksdale. A truly wonderful man and this is a nice tribute to him!
how freakin cool thanks Libby really enjoyed this video.
Terry , miss you brother . Its been too many years . Ben*Ben
I am on my way to see the museum!
Great story! Thanks Shine!
" ... like I met an old friend for the first time ... " ... !
Thanku for sharing these amazing memories w Muddy Charlie gives me goosebumps. You are both blues treasures ❤️❤️.
Harvell ! Tight on bass, the best
Big Jack & Kingfish. I had the honor of playing at Reds for the Big Jack memorial
Had the chance to watch Mr. Johnnie perform twice in 1996 and 1997. Wish it were more times!
He is a major influence on my Harmonica playing
Rice Miller. Lord he could play the harp.
Mr. Charlie is the best
Wonderful! Thank you for sharing those memories. I too have memories of Big Joe from Chicago starting in 1963. The Late Bob Koester used to host Big Joe along with Sleepy John Estes, Yank Rachell, Little Brother Montgomery, Sunnyland Slim, and anyone else he could scare up and I'd be there every week. Big Joe always made the best music on the worst guitars I'd ever seen. What a treasure he was.
Great story! It reminded me that I had seen big Joe Williams live three times, always with some unique stories going along. Here are mine: th-cam.com/video/2EB1jLt2nF0/w-d-xo.htmlsi=N4ebIq32qybCkkMb
FYI: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lillian_McMurry
Very enjoyable story telling.
Sonny boy number 2 might I add
I was blessed to meet him and witness his amazing talent on the keyboard!
Shine ! One of the best blues museums
Thanks for showcasing BB King in Clarksdale. I was lucky to see BB at the Paramount Theater in Seattle. What a night. 3 O'Clock in the morning. Thanks to the Delta Blues Museum for keeping blues alive and a most important part of our history. Loved to watch my mom dance to BB's "The thrill is gone". Both are missed. RIP BB KIng.
Wonderful. I had the great fortune to see Pinetop Perkins at Jazz Alley in Seattle. He was a legendary blues piano player. I was lucky to see him. If you saw him, you were lucky too. RIP Pinetop Perkins. One of America's greats. Many thanks to the Delta Blues Museum. Keeping the Blues and American history alive.
This is The Rev. from WXPR. It was a pleasure meeting you, Jaxx, at the 2019 Deep Blues Festival at Stan Street's Hambone gallery. Still hoping to get back your way. The museum is a must for any blues fan, for sure.

Great Museum! A must see in Clarksdale
I have been there and also to Ground Zero blues club across the street.
Oh man!!! I played with Son Thomas when I was in MS making "Crossroads"!
Big Joe is just unbelieveable...great story!!!
Saw Mr. Musselwhite at a seedy club in Hollywood and it set my harmonica career back several years. Offered my hand and he graciously took mine and I simply stated: "Love your work, Charly." What he lacked in vocal range, he more than made up iblowing some killer harp!
He might not have a big vocal range but his voice is a true voice.

He's one of my favorites. The Hooker 'N Heat album!
Good story!! I’ve visited his grave several times, and now I need to go back to the museum when I return to Clarksdale!! More stories from you!!
That is amazing that DBM saved Muddy Waters house!
An exceptional bluesman.
