One of the main reason why I don't believe Frieren should be number 1 is because if I want to recommend a show to someone I'm not going to tell them to watch a unfinished show, that's just dumb. One of the things people hate the most it getting invested into something just to be left hanging and Frieren does that while FMABH doesn't so Easy choice honestly.

It’s underrated? I’m surprised. It’s such a great anime. It’s funny and sweet. I’m loving it.
To be honest, I'm surprised Frieren was so well-received. I thought it would be much more niched. I believe it works too much on a specific range of emotions that a lot of people have either closed themselves to or can't appreciate, especially younger people. As I love the show, I was very happy to be proven wrong.

This may have changed by now but I wouldn't say the anime is underrated. It's getting great scores and is the 7th most popular anime of the season. That's above other anime like the new Fairy Tail, The Elusive Samurai, and Nier Automata. I also see it get talked about very often.
