This was definitely a vulnerable video for me but I knew it was needed for others like you to feel safe in wanting something different and outside of bedside nursing. God has a plan for us all and those early nursing years were meant to help build me but now that my life has changed into marriage and kids one day, God opened another door for me to walk through once he felt I was ready. 🙏🏽💕 Thank you so much for watching my video, it means the world! Building a community of nurses is so important to me, and you are never alone regardless of how you may feel in those dark times. My little sister got off the depo shot and had some bad periods for a few months, but recovered back to normal after about 6 months. She gets acne still but very little similar to how she was as a teen. ☺️ I also lost like 30 lbs after getting off the pill. I was about 170lbs 5’6” and got down to 135lbs in about 6 months of being off the pill. A lot of it was water weight but my normal weight is about 150lbs. Hi, I'm actually about to graduate nursing school, and want to go to ER first, but I'm really interested in IV infusion. I'm planning on doing ER for one or 2 years, and start doing IV infusion or possibly fertility nursing. Hoping it works out! I wish hospitals cared about nurses, because I didn't want to stay for that short, but I already don't have the best back lmao so I don't even want to waste my body on a system that doesn't care about me. And not sure if you mentioned this, but is the pay better?

    • @iamnursechelsea
      @iamnursechelsea หลายเดือนก่อน

      Heyy girlie! Thank you for commenting and watching!! 🫶🏽💕 GIRL SAVE your back, the hospital foundation isn’t going to change, it’s too far gone. Use the hospital to your advantage for the skill growth and then leave. Yes, so as an infusion nurse I make $50/hr. But I also am married, but even in the hospital, my base rate working as a staff nurse was like $35 at the most not including the night shift diff. But it’s honestly about the same with shift diff that I was making as a staff nurse. I was making $65/hr as a PRN float nurse in the ED before I left to do infusion nursing. But truthfully, it wasn’t about the money for me because I have my husband for that financial support, really he just wanted me to mentally be okay. And the hospital was deteriorating me drastically. So something had to change. ☺️

    • @iamnursechelsea

      @@iamnursechelsea yeah I have had many patients, especially of the elder community. Want to chitchat just had a pure loneliness. But, I had to explain to them that as much as I would love to sit there and talk with them I would have to leave their room and take care of other people. I found that my honesty with themwas excepted by them and I think they appreciated it all at all. Hi Chelsea. What is your background and what company do you work for? I'm interested in getting into this field. I've got 10 plus years in surgery and am very comfortable with IVs. Many thanks!

      Hi! Yes you should! I’ve been a nurse for 6 years, and 7 years of IV experience. I have a background of ER, and Cardiac Stepdown. You would be perfect for the role, my job required at leave 5 years of consecutive IV experience. I found my job on indeed by searching for infusion nurse. ☺️

    I have a question. I know you can’t film the patients. But how is that for you? The relationships, the ones that come for one time infusions or repeated ones? I work in acute care but I send the patients home & don’t see that again. So I’m curious of the repeated patients coming back & how that feels as a nurse? 😊

    • @iamnursechelsea
      @iamnursechelsea 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi Sophie! Thank you for watching! ☺️ Great question, so the relationships with all (about 300 or more) patients that I see in a year are awesome. I’ve probably only had an issue with two patients who are no longer infusing at my suite. But the issue was never to the magnitude of what I encountered in the ER. I actually love catching up with my patients with our gossip, girlie chit chats (because most of my patients are women), life chats! They bring me candy and doughnuts lol! It’s really a 180 experience from the hospital, and the physicians support us as nurses which is something I didn’t see often in the ER. 🥰 I recommend you look into an infusion center, I don’t work with oncology, just rheumatology and some neuro patients with MS. But all my patients are truly sweethearts and have been seeing the physicians for over 15 years, so it’s a close relationship. The nurse previous to me that I took over for worked here for 10 years, so that says A LOT! 😁

      @iamnursechelsea 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Aww thank you for watching babe! 💗 So, great question! I live in Georgia and as a RN you could own your own medical spa in collaboration with a physician. So you can own it 100% with a supervising collaboration agreement with a physician. Hopefully that makes sense. ☺️ I know in California you have to be a NP and I believe you can only own 50% and have to have a physician who owns the other 50%.

    • @iamnursechelsea
      @iamnursechelsea 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Okay, super exciting! Yes I would get at least 2 years of IV experience before doing infusion nursing because the patients sometimes don’t have the best veins. I found my job on indeed! I typed in infusion nurse to find different openings near me! ☺️ Hopefully that helps!

    • @iamnursechelsea

      Definitely look on indeed and search “infusion nurse” or even medical spa nurse because some med spas do Vitamin Infusions and you can gain more experience that way, in case you don’t want to go back to the hospital! 😄
