I decided on a cherry weeks with a clear cover and the paper series blank gingham HON! I didn’t love any of the covers from hobonichi this year so i’m currently trying to decide between a couple different ones on etsy.

I bought my first ever Hobonichi cousin and weeks for 2025 and I'm so excited to use them! Been watching videos to get ideas and see how others are using them. I do have a question, you mentioned you use fountain pens, and looking at your pages, there doesn't seem to be much bleed/shadowing? I have tested about 15 pens in my books now and the shadowing/see through the other side is painful! Do you know if the paper is different??

Where do you get your monthly index tabs? I really like them.

Since it is the 1st of September, did you make your hobonichi purchases? (The band? I put that on my wish list so I could reevaluate... I ended up not getting one, my fluffy hobo lives in my stappo now & I am down sizing to day free next year... I placed my order.) >^..^< - emoji precursor to 😺

I know this is many months later, but are you still using the Sterling Ink B6 full year common planner? How did it compare to the Hobonichi A5 for you? I’m trying to decide between a B6 and an A5 common planner for next year. I had a B6 Compact one that I didn’t start before, but a month ago I needed something more functional that the Traveler’s Notebook because I was constantly needing to get clips for the pages, etc., so I pulled out the B6 and started using it the last few weeks. I’ve been pleasantly surprised since it’s been functional and I can easily document. I do realize that the compact doesn’t have enough pages in the back (only 120 pages) so I’m planning on a full year. Thanks!

That’s really helpful! I also struggle with having my personal journal entries in my planner/journal. I have loved having sketches and watercolor doodles in the Hobonichi. I started with an A5 in 2020, but the dated pages started to feel difficult once I was leaving the house more at end of 2021. The A6 is just too small for me. I prefer to keep things simple, but have some parts of life compartmentalized, so I tried a traveler’s notebook a few different times in the last few years, but for one reason or other: the band, not having a pen loop, etc would get me to change back to another book. I liked the TN the most this last time when I added Tomoe river inserts and get a pen loop, however it doesn’t have the same ease as a bound book. Currently in a B6 Sterling ink, but I was also thinking to keep a separate notebook for the infrequent journaling. Thanks for sharing that insight about your A6 book for the personal journal entries. In 2025 I would like to try a book system again, possibly an A5 common planner from Sterling Ink because the undated dailies give me a bit more freedom. But a bit nervous since it’s a big book. Looking forward to watching more of your journal/planner videos.

I forgot you asked about the insides - When you pointed out the cartoon one, I saw what bugged you, but if you had not pointed it out, I would not have noticed. It would not bother me, but I don't TH-cam my journalling. AND I have become a no cover girl.

I'm doing day free - this year I allowed my journalling to go beyond the day... After the monthly, I don't use the dailies as dailies a lot. I may get a date stamp... (I use calendex a lot and monthly would be for holidays, vacation, birthdays...) I'm getting a weeks for meal planning - probably cherries or sushi. Or maybe a solid - unsure color so that I can put stickers on it. White line on black is favorited. (Both of those being home bound.) I got a stappo last year - I keep my A6 in it, I will probably get the smaller Liberty Stappo. (I use TN pocket in my current Hobo, so I will get the pockets.) I had my passport TN turned into a wallet by Baum Kuchen, so I will probably get weekly horizontal insert for my on the go. (unsure, I use my phone too.)
