Hi, I'm Rob and in the 2021 / 2022 ski season I hope to bring you as many ski videos of ski resorts in Austria as possible.
I'll upload as many as I can throughout the season. Enjoy the season and stay safe out there on the slopes and off piste.

Ramsau Plateau - Austria 🇦🇹- Cross Country Skiing
Ramsau am Dachstein is located in the district of Liezen, state of Styria, Austria. The elevated plateau has the same name which lies between the Dachstein mountain range and the Enns valley.
This video was filmed on a Sunday. A day when locals and tourists compete in a number of cross country skiing races or Skilanglauf as it’s known in Austria.
Most of the action was filmed in the Langlauf Stadion. The stadium is the centre for cross country skiing. The plateau being above 1100 metres makes it excellent for langlauf with plenty of fresh snow throughout the season.
You will also see some video of the local church in the town of Ramsau am Dachstein. Plus, the Aktivhotel Pehab hotel which offers some of the best food in the area.
Alpine skiing is offered via the Rittisberg lift, featured in the video. The pictures of the ski lift have some historical value. A new improved lift system has been built for the coming season.
The Ramsau plateau is one of the most beautiful places I’ve visited. It truly is a magical place. I hope you enjoy the video.

Zell am See is an Austrian town by the lake Zell. It’s also one of the most popular ski resorts in Austria. The ski card covers over 400km of piste and includes both Kaprun and Saalbach-Hinterglemm. we came down on this slope on our second day of snowboarding. took us about an hour 🤣🤣🤣 now that I don't fall on every turn I should go back and try again.

I've bin in gosau in the 70's there's was no black run, now I have seen this video ........, there's still no black run.
Agreed. It doesn't feel like a black run. Although, the classification has something to do with the gradient, I believe. Anyhow, it's my favorite run in Gosau.
What was the ambient temperature? I read the action 2 shits down below 0 degrees...
It’s a while ago so from memory it was around -2 Celsius. The camera struggled even at that temperature. The Action 2 isn’t really an “action camera’ it’s more of a POV camera. Hence why the Action 3 has gone back to the more traditional “GoPro style”.

Now live in New Zealand. Skiing is good, but doesn't compare with Austria. I do miss Austria.
Austria has bigger mountain ranges but New Zealand is more diverse geographical wise. Thanks for watching ☺️
i go there every year and it is realy nice to ski the Grübhorndllift can be tricky i know that bute the piste are beatifull.

Yes, Lofer is a fairly quiet ski resort as it’s small and not very commercial.
@@skilife8362 No, Lofer is very busy with carnaval and christmas, i don’t recommend you go skiing with national holidays

Yes, you can use the lifts as many times as you like for the number of days the pass covers

Filzmoos is just the best, I've been coming there for 15 years
It certainly is a beautiful resort to ski and just sit back an enjoy the mountains. I have a new video of Filzmoos filmed this season coming soon.
Nice smooth footage. Just looking at the osmo action 2. Can I ask what mounts you were using?
Hi, thanks for the nice comment..I filmed most of this footage with the camera on a adhesive curved mount directly on top of the ski helmet. The chairlift shots were mounted onto the GoPro magnetic clip mount attached to my daypack. The Action 2 comes with a standard action camera 2 prong attachment so you can mount it to any GoPro / generic action mount. As for the camera itself, personally, I don’t think it copes with cold weather very well in terms of battery life. The beep is so quiet when you activate the camera using voice commands mostly you can’t hear it. I also think the camera is expensive for what it is…GoPro cameras are better suited to filming skiing videos from my experiences using both. Best regards Rob
This resort straddles the Austria German border and is alternatively known as Steinplatte or Winlkmoosalm. Yes, good place to be, and in the afternoons, you can buy your ski pass by the hour.
Yeah, it’s great fun to ski over the border through the forest.
Skied this off piste with Wolfie and Goodie (local instructors/guides) the year before it was pisted and the Gondola put in. Have skied it several times since to get the bus to the Pengelstein for the Kitzbueler ski area. Great fun.
Fantastic, I’m staying less than 500 yards from the KW lift as I type. I remember skiing off piste to a homestead near Going which had cows at the back of the property and a tiny restaurant for locals in 95 that was.
@@skilife8362 - Did the same a few years ago, again with Wolfie (Wolfgang Prem). Beer and cheese in a huge farmhouse kitchen with cows in the back, halfway down off piste from Hohe Salve to Brixen. Great times.

Hi, mid January 2022 this video was filmed. Muhlbach can get busy as do all the ski resorts during holiday periods.
