God, my friends and I would play this for HOURS back in late '94, early '95.

That silly dance Yokozuna did before his finisher was the one thing from this game that had stuck with me all these years.

The N64 had the best genre of wrestling games

I actually owned this abysmal game. I remember there was a code that on a certain arena, the wrestlers would dance to this goofy song.

It always bugged me that the majority of the finishers were off. Bret Hart and Ric Flair had submission finishers, that didn't submit. Crush and Million Dollar Man similar, but they put the opponent to sleep, didn't do that. Perfect and Yoko were pin finishers, that didn't pin. HBK no longer did the Tear Drop Suplex, and Macho's elbow drop was actually the standard elbow drop all the characters did. Still, was a fun game.

How many wrestling games were made using this same engine back then? I remember as a kid playing so many different versions of this game but all basically the same game

These old SNES WWF games were hard but the rosters were so good with legends like the Macho Man

This sounds awful compared to the US version in my opinion.

Loved this when I was a kid. Hated that you still had to pin the opponent after the submission finishers.

You should’ve done his whip special, top rope special and turnbuckle grapple special. Fun video nonetheless.

Man. The THQ wrestling games were just amazing when you came up from the 2D sprite games like Royal Rumble, and Raw. Made you feel like you were actually doing what was seen on TV. Sure when you get down to it, it was primitive, but that didn't matter - it looked like you were fighting in front of a live crowd. Just amazing.

Honestly the fact that this game had tag teams but you couldn't do tag team matches utterly puzzles me. Like... why?
