My friends I roadied for(The K Word) opened up for them at one of the shows that got Tooth and Nail to notice Beloved early on -- It was in Lynchburg, VA and I just remember being blown away by all 3 bands that night. The drummer from FSF is on another level and never gets his just due...it's such a strange band because usually this type of music is so guitar driven but FSF has never had guitarists that have been the musical leaders - it's always been Chad and Steve and I'll always be convinced that Strongarm is why FSF is technically skilled beyond most of their piers...they needed a singer that wasn't one of the ones they chose...and on that particular evening I thought Jason Gleason sounded better than he's ever sounded - he's just trying to do things beyond what his voice can keep up with(which I dig) but it'll make it shaky in spots....I love how they GO FOR IT! :) thats their charm mixed with skill!

OMG thank you for posting! I'm 40 years old and these guys were one of the bands that got me into punk music in the 90's and I never looked back. I've always loved Mike's lyrics and croon-y soothing voice. I've been watching their live request broadcasts over the last few months and after going years without listening to them, I had forgotten how awesome these guys are. (I didn't not listen to them for that long intentionally...one of my ex's from my mid-20's loved MXPX so they were in heavy rotation in his truck CD player. I couldn't listen to them because so many songs reminded me of ol' Johnny B. and he broke up with me in the most cowardly, selfish, chauvinistic, shittiest way that I've ever been dumped. So yeah. I know nobody will care to read all of this but whatevs. I'm already committed.) Bummed that Mike will be out of commission for a bit and the live streams and shows (if they plan on doing any, idk so please don't come at me if you're a superfan that keeps up with them closely! I have trouble keeping up with my FAVORITE bands w my crippling ADHD), but I do hope they come up to New England at some point in the future. Texas and Cali get ALL the good shows! Anyway if you made it this far sorry for the novel and rambling on but I tend to do that sometimes without even planning on it or intending to. You really never know what your ND brain will make you do. It's fun. Thanks again for sharing. I think we all needed some old friends and good music after this past week...

This was a great set. Thanks for posting it. That version of "The Theme Fiasco" was awesome. It was worth it watching the full set just to see that.

I watched them set up for this show and no lie, James unboxed a brand new synthesizer and began to set it up as they were soundchecking. This set was one of my favorites out of the 4 years of Furnace Fest!
