    I didn't make it through this thing as it quickly became obvious that it doesn't apply to where I live. Is this about the Australian or Chinese market? I wish we could buy a small cheap EV in Canada for using around town; I would buy one today. Unfortunately with NAFTA and the autopact we likely won't ever see BYD here. It would get tariffed to death.

    Don't try and tar all EV's with the same brush, Tesla uses CATL's LFP batteries in there standard Model 3 and Model Y globally and BYD uses the same in their Blade Batteries which don't use any at all Cobalt and these batteries will outlast the car, so no need to replace the battery. Battery technology has come a long way since the beginning. And by the way they are not the only EV manufacturer that use's LFP batteries. To put the story straight I believe that Toyota is still using Cobalt batteries in their Hybrid vehicles now which is 20 year old technology so who is the WORST offender here NOW

    After 8 years of good-weather only driving of my 2016 Nissan Leaf, the battery needs replacing. I am JUST past my warranty though I had complained to the dealership for at least a year prior that the power was degraded. If I do decide to bite the bullet and pay to replace the battery - an estimated cost of $20,000 - there is no supply at the moment. It will be at least a year and may be closer to two years. The dealership has suggested I should just buy another car...

    My son buy a Model 3 color white cost him 60,000 on my opinion is alot of money for many drivers have similar issues about the sensors and cameras should alert the driver other is coming to close to avoid accidents. I make sure my son take his Tesla to the dealership.

    This is just another clickbait video with fake news. Always look for proof and be critical if you see a magic bullet for all the diseases. Japan is at the back end of EV adoption. They are dragging ICE vehicles as long as they can just to make a lot of money milking people in petrol stations. You can't make petrol at home. When the world gets to them, they have nothing. That is why Honda EVs will be based on American GM and Toyota on Chinese BYD and GAC platforms. Hydrogen ICE vehicles will not work due to NOx emissions. Hydrogen fuel cell light vehicles will not work due to the cost of making, transporting, and storing hydrogen, the complexity and slow evolution of fuel cells, and the low amount of hydrogen filling stations. EVs evolving very quickly. CATL for almost a year has been making 250Wh/kg qilin lithium-ion batteries. Zeekr 001 with one charge went 620mi at a temperature between -2 and -12C. Samsung has announced that in 2027 will open a solid-state battery factory that will make more than 500Wh/kg battery. Basically, double the range of qilin. This kind of advancement is everywhere: charging speed (12min till 80%), renewable energy is getting efficient and cheap (200EUR/kWh) and will overlast you, smart electric grids, petrol head EVs that will give you more feal than ICE cars and a lot more.

    This is very exciting news. The big thing for me that seems to have been left out is that it takes the EV battery out of the equation, which is highly damaging in and of itself (in some cases, there is more CO2 produced in producing an EV, than the lifetime emmisions of a petrol car). Additionally, this cleaner than electric option can now provide a future where I get to continue to drive cars with internal combustion engines, I'm sold already

      Ideally yes. But I think separating hydrogen from water is very energy intensive. So that might be what's holding it back. I think hydrogen fuel cell engine might work better than hydrogen combustion engine.

Where’s the fun in EVs? Nobody will know you’re coming home, no body can hear you coming! In my old CRV, my neighbour can feel the vibration from my engine, his house will just vibrate too!

    Here in the UK our ambient temperature between September and April is about 15 degrees C which means for that time an EV battery will be running far off its design temperature so producing less power and fewer miles. How can EV proponents think this sort of inferior performance is progress? Now in 2024 there is a marked decline in EV purchases as people realise their inadquancies compared with ICE vehicles.

    I'm a car and driver man. I love and enjoy driving. I wouldn't let my mom drive my car, i sure wouldn't let some computer drive it. If a day comes i dont want to drive, I'll go greyhound and leave the driving to us. Nope, keep the computer and save the extra expense. I wouldn't know about this untrustworthy technology. I drive a Jaguar XJL with 570 miles of range and not an EV.

    We should remember in the UK and the USA, had the red flag bearer laws in the late 19th century, no doubt funded and put in place by concern businesses worried about the future of the horse based transport industries, such as horse feed, horse pull buggy, saddles and whips to name few, going out of business. Yet even with such effort to stop the ICE vehicles, horse still got replaced by the 1930s with the car! History will repeat itself again, this time with EVs replacing ICE vehicles, all I hear is people who do not like the change complain how they do not like EVs and how they will never buy one and will go out of the way to illegally buy a grey imports after and any countrywide ban of ICE, as if any government will just ignore it without saying a word to someone breaking the law!

    EVs are three to four decades from being efficient enough to stand on their own without subsidies and tax breaks. The current EVs only 5 percent more efficient/less pollution than fossil fuel in their current designs. Politicians are the ones pushing the electric because of opportunities for Skim and control of vehicle use. Wind took 48 years longer to mature. Solar voltaic systems are still three decades away from being efficient enough to stand on their own without subsidies and tax breaks

    NO, this is NOT the end of EV's, on the contrary, EV sales have increased month over month, year over year, and will continue to grow until we hit 100% by, or before, 2035. Problem with legacy auto makers like Ford and GM is, they announce these great EV's but don't make them. The Chev Silverado had 200k pre-orders and to date, still hasn't started selling them. They had over 100k pre-orders for the Equinox EV, one from myself, and won't make them until maybe late next year. There's no shortage of EV demand, it's EV supply.

    Tesla has shown that compelling, efficient and viable EVs can be made for a competitive price. The Chinese quickly caught on and confirmed this fact. Legacy car makers bet the farm on Tesla going bust, and did nothing. Now is the time to pay for that grave error of judgement. The genie is out of the bottle, car buyers love them and there's no thing back. Tesla and China are full steam ahead, while legacy car makers just bleat and try to avoid the inevitable. This is only going to end one way. Thankfully, I'm a Tesla shareholder, not Ford, GM or Toyota
