Bottesini - Variazione sulla "Nel cor più non mi sento" | Wies de Boevé & Aaron Wajnberg
Now already 10 years ago, I was very lucky to receive financial support from the Belgian Foundation "Vocatio" to help me covering the costs of my studies. This kind of help is extremely important for the development of young artists and it is one of the most direct ways to invest in the future of our culture.
The Covid-19 pandemic changed our world within just a few months. For many artists, life changed radically from the one day to the other, often creating huge financial problems. Unfortunately, this pandemic will continue making the lives of artists, and anyone involved in culture, even more difficult. When Foudation Vocatio asked me to play a concert as a support for musicians in trouble and to bring a message of solidarity and hope, I immediately accepted and travelled to Brussels. I chose one of Bottesini's own favourite works, his variations on "Nel cor più non mi sento", and played it in front of an empty BOZAR- concerthall in Brussels, only to be streamed online.

The fantasy on themes from Bellini's Beatrice di Tenda was one of Bottesini's own favorite works. Here you can hear it in a live recording from a recital dedicated to Giovanni Bottesini. Such a beautiful combination of instruments complimenting eachother perfectly in each nuance of this piece.
I just want to comment that you're the first person I've seen upload classical music to Spotify with useful titles (including the composer name) for this album. (Or at least whoever at Warner Classics handled it.) All over Spotify (etc.) I see these movement names with no indication of who the composer is, and I think "how could anyone let that happen?" but it's how EVERYONE uploads their music, and what the distributor guidelines call for. Glad that SOMEBODY had the sense and courage to do the right thing... Thank your record label for me! (Thanks because I will be using this album as my example of how I demand tracks be uploaded, even if it goes against the guidelines.)

@wiesdeboevecom Is it the same bass you used in other performances like ARD Finale or Bottesini Competition? Do you feel any big difference about sound projection or sound quality? Great performance, by the way.
