How good is this. Dinky little rigs. ❤️❤️❤️
Love the beep of the film strip. Reminds me of watching educational film strips in my grammar school days.
Great video, Thank You, I have 4 Metropolitans her in England UK
A friend of mine rolled his mom's convertible metro 3 times, bent some wheels, tore the top, but the car was only deeply scratched, doors opened fine, didn't even crack the windshield! One tough little car!
Typical Austin engine. Be sure to care tools and extra oil :) Bring back whitewalls!
4:47 Typical British engine of the time.
What a POS. I never would have bought one. 😅
41 mpg in 1954!!! Where did we go wrong?
There was no standard test protocol, so that means it can be hypermiled to 41 mpg, or at best that's a steady 45-50 mph figure. Since its' introduction in the '70s the EPA highway gas mileage test has been revised to give "more realistic" (read:lower) numbers twice - in 1985 with a mathematical formula and in 2008 by stipulating the test be run with a/c on and at a higher speed than had been feasible on a dyno when the original test protocol was drawn up.
Relaxing music, with relaxing drive. A fun car to drive.
They were also Hudson Metropolitan's
Why were the cops poking their noses in here and spoiling it
A Hudson Badged Metropolitan
hello, may i know what is the name of the purple/grey car at 1:39 minute that people are photographing right next to the yellow metropolitan nash car? thank you
Know the Metropolitan shared much with the Austin A40, yet did it extend as far as basically using a short-wheelbase version of the (1954-1958 A40 to A55) Cambridge platform given both feature the same width and appeared around the same year? Also heard the Metropolitan made use of mechanicals from the smaller Austin A30, yet find that tough to believe.
Hello, what's the name of the little black one?
Roger Rabbit cars! Great video-thanks 😀
Where did you start from and where did you go? It looks like either Southern California or perhaps Northern California, starting in Sacramento driving up 80 or 50 into the Sierra foothills. No big deal, just curious to see if I recognize the landscape.
What a fabulous sight
Wow 21 Metropolitans, i have two here in England UK. Fantastic video thanks. This would be too much to take in to see this sight here in England, too colourful to. Just a beautiful sight for me
Hey what a great video, i have three Metropolitans here in England UK, i just wish we had the enthusiast for them here as you guys out there in Good Ol US of A have, the car that we built for your country, i just love em
I remember when you could pick one of these up for a few hundred...... times have changed!
You could also pick one up with three friends.
A show one step below Yugo Owners Club.
Greetings from California! These are one of those few cars that brings a smile to everyone’s face-young or old. Love them!
I have to say, the Metropolitan was a great car as our neighbor had a 1959 model and I rode with him to the store on many occasions. At the same time, my mom had a 1959 Ford Skyliner with the biggest 352 engine and 300 HP. There was no comparison as far as performance went but Gunney's Metropolitan was fun to ride in and was really pretty peppy. His had a three speed manual, radio, and heater. I can remember him telling me he got between 30 and 35 miles per gallon but then gasoline prices were not an issue then. The last time I saw Gunney, he was still driving his Metropolitan daily to work. His wife drove an Ambassador wagon which they traded in every few years until 1970. He always took care of that car. He changed the oil every month as I would sometimes go with him to the Rambler dealer in town. Who knows, maybe somebody in the Metropolitan auto club is driving it still....
I really like the old liveries from the 50s with two two paintwork Anne non of this metallic finish today. The Nash reminds of the British Ford Consul of the era. Can't help thinking it's looks like the children of the 57 chev
Very convincing sales pitch , so why did American motors only build 100000 of these little gems? Maybe because they only cost 50.00 less than a Rambler! O ya don’t plan on taking your family of 6 on vacation in it!
Clark Kent drove one on TV... ;-)
Someone got creative at 1:43, with the silver one...
So much cooler than a smart car
Wish u did more videos
Posted one on 7-8-2019, and will be post some more over the next 4 weeks
These cars are so cute I could just hug them!
I can't believe how loud the stereo is in your Metropolitan
It is not my stereo. The music is overlaid before I uploaded it.
I have a question about these little cars
Those are examples. Just beautiful!
I like the club and I really like the green color on the Nash convertible in the interview. I am confused as to the correct color and paint code for the car. The color looks like,1958 year 906 -croton green r2 There appears to also be a 1958 906 croton green that is much more yellow. Is there anyone that can tell me what the exact color of this car is? Thanks PatrickB...
The color is suppose to be Croton Green. Only approx. 1150 1954's were painted this color. The color on this car is off a bit.
Thank you for the great video!!
nice met/ I have 59 b/w hdtp would look greatwith yours
wow that's cool. I wish I had one.
That's a whole lot of Metro's, the worst one there was the one parked on some sort of 4WD chassis. Yuck!
It would be a dream come true to own one of these.
I can't wait to buy one and join the pack!!!
Where is this show?
Awesome man! I can't wait to get my met rolling! I'm a newbie so working on this sweet ride has had some great challenges.
I'm in the same boat with my 60
Donny, my neighbor from River Vale NJ passed away last year. He was always a fun loving wonderful guy....the world will miss him. So sorry to his wife...Joanne Bob Kaufman
This is awesome! I'm trying to get my met rolling. I'm in Watsonville ca. Know if anyone else close by that can come and help me out?
+montereybaymurals I am with the Greater Bay Area Metropolitan Club in the Bay Area. We are the closets club to you. You can go to out web site at: www.norcalmets.com for our events. Go to the web site and send me your contact information. We have members in Monterey.
Was that a metro at the end?
I think those look like the most fun cars ever :D
I had 2 Metros, one 1956 and one 1962. both Black and White. The 1st one I lived in Cincinnati,, OH and I was 16 years old so I could. I paid $1500.00!!! I left it for my brother and moved to California and bought it in 1962. About 10 yearsw ago I gave it to my son and he really loves it. I am a Senior Citizen now and I don't drive now!!
T Miller Since it was 6 years ago you wrote that comment, have you gotten it finished yet?
enjoyed the song and history....PM
Very engaging and entertaining. You are a fine class all by yourself, my dear friend.
