This is my first time watching you guys and the impression that I’m getting is that you guys are unfamiliar with the past 40 years of transformers lore & literature. It seems you guys have only watched Transformers Bay movies and that’s it. Michael bay got the idea of the 13 primes from transformers literature and storylines created by IDW’s & Dreamwave’s comic books years ago. The G1 transformers cartoon show back in 1984 explains a lot about Transformers; i.e. a transforming cog that was stolen from metroplex episode ; Elita-1 actually being The autobot resistance leader for an all-female bot squad on Cybertron during the 1984 cartoon show as well. For brand new transformer fans Who just got on the bandwagon 10 years ago, aren’t familiar with such details and think this is all brand new stuff made up by Michael bay. There is so much more storytelling in transformers history that they could not fit into this one movie. Also, all the newbies out there should keep in mind that this origin story takes place at least 1 million years before they even land on earth in the bay movies or in comics literature. The transformers war has been ongoing for a millennia. so it makes sense over such a long period of time, that both Orion and D-16 are going to look considerably different from their origins to what they currently look like today. Just years of constant transformation evolution.

The T-Cog's been around for almost 40 years. There were several episodes where it was the McGuffin. The background of this movie is littered with named Transformers. And every name on during the race are names of real Transformers. Even Steve is an actual Transformer.

The thing that makes Ultraman different (in MY OPINION, as I am NOT nearly as experienced with Rider or Sentai) from the other mainstay TV toku franchises is how the lore interconnects over the whole franchise. Storylines from the 60s and 70s are called back to as recently as today. A great example is 2020's Ultraman Z (or Zett) which is available as a quite good English dub on the Ultraman youtube channel. Theres an episode that pays tribute and is kinda a sequel to the Ultra Q episode "Challenege from the year 2020" in which an alien known as Kemur tries to take over the world. The same invasion is called back to in that episode of Z and the time travel stuff in it is followed up on. There's lots of great stuff and connections to be made if you watch the older ultra shows along with the new ones. It creates this feeling of a big interconnected world with storylines and lore that stretches the whole length of the franchise. Even as far back as the 1966 Ultraman you can find that, as that series is a sequel to Ultra Q and several things from Ultra Q makes reappearances in Ultraman. As far as I'm aware (and please correct me if I'm wrong I'm just not as knowledgeable on it) Kamen Rider and Sentai and all that don't do legacy characters or interconnected stories too much outside of movies or specific crossover specials. That interconnected lore of Ultraman is confusing at first but it's great to dive into the more you watch the show.

I'm very glad you liked those episodes of ginga. Sorry for the negativity my friend I just love ultraman, because it's my favorite franchise since I was kid. Ginga is not an anniversary season, but I still love Ginga, because he save the entire franchise. You said you want a show from the new gen era so I recommend you ultraman x, ultraman orb is actual anniversary season, ultraman geed, ultraman taiga, ultraman z, ultraman blazar and the newest series ultraman arc. Sorry for the long list, but the new gen era has many good ultraman series in my opinion. I hope you enjoy ultraman like me my friend 😊
