He was a man of integrity and honesty. Regardless of what you think of his policies as President, he is one of the most decent people that has ever served in any level of government. We’ve never had another President that was so committed to human rights and telling the public the truth. I’ll never forget seeing him at a book signing and getting a book signed by him in Portland, Oregon when I was a junior in high school. Such a great memory!

@@wilnerolivier7971 it was a cool experience. Waited all day and was the first one in line. Very brief hello and goodbye but it’s something I cherish. The book he signed is like royalty to me.

That man was expelled by an oppressive, anti-democratic military regime who, in typical CIA Cold War-era fashion, overthrew a legitimate, democratically elected government just because they were slightly leftist, and was then propped up by the US for over a decade until a man who cared about human rights entered the White House. Also, how does helping the people of Brazil hurt the people of America?

Happy Brithday, Carter.
I’m not acting like he was one of the top best Presidents by any means. But he is such a good person. He said what he felt, he tried to do what was right. He’s not a bad person, unfortunately with the inflation and gas prices of 1979 and the Iran Hostage Crisis he just had bad luck. But he still felt like a real leader and someone who wasn’t abusing his power. I really like him despite some of the bad things he’s done during his presidency. Till this day he will still, he will go down in history as the president who made human rights central to his own foreign policy. Happy Birthday Jimmy Earl Carter. ✌️🦅
