i just got mine from Amazon and this video helped me decide on this...i have to take it with me on a plate to panama and it will be great since its not bulky and heavy

NOT the right way. the right way is that the gears come out, cleaned, prepped and preheated then welded and tempered (slow cooling) then installed. if just one bit of slag (HARD METAL) is in your diff after you did that the gears will be trashed. welds can and often do crack and or come off the parent metal as they are usually hardened and or cast. NEVER do what you did if you have any investment into your project. Doing this for a demo derby car is fine but do not click bait and make up things that you do not understand in a video telling others to do what you did the wrong way and say it was right.

What’s with all the haters? I feel like everybody that post a negative comment should post a link to their welding videos. God forbid your gas “may” leak If a little if the valve isn’t all the way open, more than likely it won’t, but it’s argon for God sakes. Saying your gas is to high, well it’s not pushing your puddle around so why comment? I am no expert, I’m a guy on TH-cam looking to learn how to Tig weld aluminum better. You turned out some nice welds with very budget equipment. I have not tried 4043 and definitely will get some after watching this. Also, people saying that 5053 is the only way to go I kind of doubt they have compared and stress tested each. I kinda hate commenting because I will probably get chastised by the grammar and spelling Police. Welcome to the Internet, my friend.

Just did this. Fixed it completely, dealt with this issue for way too long for as simple as it was to fix.

I've got that same chipping 'hammer'. It was one of the benefits I earned from buying a $50 stick welder from Amazon. The welder has been fantastic over the last 2 years or so. The 'hammer' hangs in a place of honor over my workbench so that I may bask in its glory daily.

Like your reviews. Good content. Just wondering..... Did you run DCEN or DCEP on your 7018 tests? My experience, 7018 usually better results for me running DCEP (in other words, better welds and less cuss words, lol)

Probably useful for in the field patchups to get back to workshop. Bout it I'd say. I'm getting one. I think it's OK. Good enough is usually good enough.

I just ordered it on Aliexpress for $59.82, which came out to $62.46 after taxes... I have another combo Stick/TIG welder I got for about $90 last year which works awesome too, so I couldn't pass this deal up - especially for not having to use argon! It looks like it does as fine a job as my stick welder, so it will proudly go on my tiny welding cart right alongside my other one. I'm a longstanding CBOA member (Cheap Bast@rds of America), so I am happy to have watched your review and found it listed even cheaper than what you had said. Kudos on your review, and of your fine welding skills!

is it standard quick connects? like could i use my ck or weldtech tig torch on it or a standard 150 or 200 amp tig rig on it?

Turn your gas bottle all the way on.

The thing is you guys are professional welders, the machine is for occasional small cracks 😅😅

Thank you for your honest review. That was the reason I bought one for myself. They call the newer one 160-XD because it has a Digital Screen. I have a Sync Function on mine if I press the button for 3 seconds, do you have any Idea what it's good for? The manual isn't really good.

Great video! I have yes welder tig 250 and I need to weld transmission bellhousing that's about 3/16 thick. Any tips to start with? 3/32 or 1/8 tungsten? Filler type? Amperage, etc.

I can't help but to think with pulse MIG getting more and more popular that TIG welding will become like stick welding,,, just kinda only done in very special cases,,, almost kinda obsolete in many ways, pulse or dual pulse mig is way faster, takes way less skill, takes way less consumables and is just as good in almost every way and better in many.
