I saw the Jibun Techo last year but wasn't ready. To plunk down that much for it. So I started looking for this as a work planner and found the B6 half off last week - just waiting for it to arrive!
I will be downsizing to the A6 size this year.
If you are watching this, the first 11.5 minutes is all about different types of notebooks. Start at 11:27 for ideas on how to use the journal. Good tip on numbering pages! Strictly functional over aesthetics, which is what most people are going to want for work. I particularly liked the sidebar use for action items. A good example of a work bullet journal in the wild.
I would love to see project management planninf as well!
Espresso is black-brown. That's why it's cooler.
Thank you for making this video. I have been considering doing One Book July this year and this gave me some good points to think about first. Amazing content and a video that I will save to watch multiple times in the future. Thank you 🤍
Is your stalogy A5 or B6 and does it get heavy?
It’s a B6. And it’s not too bad. No heavier than my personal rings.
Hey, lady - nice to see you again! I've been missing too: planner chaos and well....life. Very pretty and functional set-up. B6 is great for journaling and whatever-else-you-need-it-for size, isn't it? Shopping your stash is cool. Sometimes you can have an "Oh wow, I forgot I bought that. Look how much $$$ I saved!" moment. Going forward from this month, I'm going into the new A6 Pocket Bullet Journal (I have a tiny life). There's a set of 3, so I'll use 1 for bujo-ing (weeklies, dailies, feelings, short-form journaling, etc.) and 1 for Annual/Reference (Year, Months, Future Logs, Birthdays and other stuff I refuse to write over and over). I have other journals, but those are the main ones. I really value the review and reflection aspect. It helps to unravel the tangles I get into. Enjoy your "new" format! It looks great! TFS.
Thanks for stopping by!! A6 pocket bullet journal sounds fun! I’m wondering if I can do that next, but right now I’m committed to using this setup since it is working so well. Is this set something you put together or something you purchased as a set? Hope it works well for you!
I am using a b6 tn and im loving it. I was in an a6 stalogy for the first 4 months of the year, but last month I used a b6 composition notebook as a type of bullet journal planner and I loved it. It’s more of a pain to carry around, but I just love having it with me. I am currently housing my daily planner (the b6 composition notebook), and a Bushimen x Kokuyo PAL Planner, a fabric pouch insert, and another insert I use as a wallet. It’s pretty stuffed but I loooove it!
Sounds like a great setup!
When I saw that you posted a video I clicked right away 😂 I realized that I need space to do micro journaling too and a lightweight tool. So for the month of June I'm going to switch to papertess design undated yearly notebook in TN size. It is configured like your stalogy. Horizontal weeks and blank pages in between. A the moment I am in an A6 Leuchtturm where I tried this layout
I may have to check the Papertess one out. Right now I’m loving this!
Whoohoo! Just started watching--so thrilled that you posted a video!
Thanks for stopping by!
I would interested to watch a series on project management. Thank you
Thanks for letting me know! I’ve been taking a break from filming but I’ll see what I can do!
Thank you for sharing. Your layout simple and practical. Can you share your process for when you are waiting to hear back from someone or an ongoing project that takes a few months to complete (ex. due to back and forth communication and approval process)?
Hi, Thanks for asking. I use a combination of things - notes in my bullet journal (with post it flags to remind me to look back at outstanding things) and sending myself emails or setting appointments on my calendar to remind me.
Thanks for sharing this comparison! I was wondering how the sizes compare with the Moterm and the Filofax Malden in particular. Moterm looks too wide/square for me... The Gillio looks so good!
Moterms are a little wider - but it usually doesn’t bother me much.
Just watching now, in April, and thank you for sharing! I'm driving myself self crazy and planner hopping from the Weeks to this one, the JT A5slim.... hoping it will help me be more productive with the daily timeline - kinda wish it had more grid pages in the back, but will supplement with the Idea books
The Jibun Techo are really great planners. Packed full of well thought out things. I love adding an idea book to give the free-from space I need for notes. Hope it works well for you!
Thanks for the overview! I have an A5 on order and have no idea what I'm doing, but you've given me some great uses to try out. Also, love the "Surely not everyone was kung fu fighting" sticker. 😀
I’m glad the video was helpful! I love the Jibun Techo line. And that sticker is so cute, isn’t it? 😆
Late to the party but i MUCH prefer a functional notebook over a pretty one. I don't care about pretty noted, all i care about is functionality. So I think this is perfect and definitely instagramable!
1,000% agree! Thank you!
Thank you for sharing! I love the Jibun. It would be cool to see a video on your EDC!
Thanks for stopping by!
Really helpful, thanks! I used B6 DAYS and thought the grid was a little small. But I really liked the paper compared to Tomoe River paper. I just bought an A5 weekly version, so this video is timely.
Glad it was helpful!
Thanks for this, mine is on its way to me and I’m so excited, transitioning from a Hobo Cousin to this book plus the Idea, I’m also in my 50s and just need to free myself from so much journaling commitment! Hoping to create more of a memory keeping/household data archive with this system.
Hope you enjoy it! Glad the video was helpful
Thank you for sharing this video.
Thanks for watching!
Just curious. Do you like the Jibun Days version of their techno? Secondly, why do you prefer the Jibun Techo to the Hobonichi Cousin?
I found the layout of the Jibun Days messed with my brain. The center column with the timeline just didn’t work for me. I know other people love it. I like the Jibun Techo for a few reasons - the Biz (Mio) paper is great, I love the well thought out pages in the front - less for me to set up manually, and I love not having to deal with the daily pages in the Hobo Cousin - It just felt like too much for me. Hope this helps
Hi! Thank you so much for this video! I know it was a long time ago since you made it, but it comes really in handy for me now since I’m trying to figure out how to archive my inserts for my A6 😊 Might try this!
I wish I had seen this vid before ordering the A5 Slim. Just received it today and am slightly disappointed that the Weekly columns are only a few squares wider than the B6 Slim. I was hoping for a bit more room. So now I have both and not sure which to use! Such an amazingly comprehensive planner 😍
I'm glad you enjoyed the video! I would suggest trying them both - even if you just photocopy a couple weeks and play around on paper with them. I am using the B6 this year and am finding I feel cramped where I hadn't before. Maybe because I'm used to the A5 from last year? I'm seriously considering going back to the A5 since it's a spring edition and I could use it from now until April. Decisions, decisions!! Let me know what you decide to do!
I am also interested by a series on project management 😊 M
Noted! Thank you! 😊
I love the Jibun Techo! I found it in 2021 & have been using it since. I’m also trying the Hobonichi Cousin A5 Hon. I tried the Cousin a few years ago & the Daily pages overwhelmed me. But I wanted to try it again. But I think Jibun will continue to be my #1.
I agree that the daily pages in the Hobonichi is overwhelming! I love the planner but I just get stuck sometimes and feel like I can never catch up.
Yes please! A series on project management, the analog flavor in case you use signifiers between projects, threads and communication + tasks in between
Thank you for sharing your setup 😊 We have individual Slack channels for each projects, and I found that the canvas feature is very good for keeping a shared running task list amongst team members. For my day to day tasks and schedule, I use a notebook that has a setup similar to the Franklin covey system
Yes, I love the canvas feature!
Would love to see how you do project management.
Ok! Let me figure out how I can show without sharing any company secrets. LOL
Yes please. A series of work planner related videos would be great. I use a hybrid system - Google for calendaring, slack for day to day comms but like to take meeting notes and daily tasks in my notebook.
Ok! Let me figure out how I can show without sharing any company secrets.
I always use that first “last December” calendar as a bill schedule. ♥️
That's a great idea!
Great video and explanation! I had the same beige on in B6 slim for 2022, I think I want to go for the A5 slim in 2024.
I’m seriously torn between the two sizes!
@@ThoughtsAlongLifesHighway They should make one between B6 and A5 so it's just right 😂
Always great to see your set-ups and to hear your thought process. Welcome back and looking forward to your next post.
Thank you!
Enjoyed your video! I’m in a Wonderland 222 B6 for 2024, which I have no complaints, but always interested in other options (I get bored). I’m 56, last child is a junior in college across the country so empty nester as well & retired - not much happening, but will always buy a planner. Subscribed to your channel ✅.
Welcome! So glad you're here. I tried the Wonderland planner (I think I've tried them all) but I missed not having the weekly "to do" column and putting it at the bottom messed with my brain. LOL Thanks for stopping by and subscribing.
Nice! At least I'm not the only one that keeps buying it every year no matter how many weeks I used my previous year's one 😅❤ I love it so much! But I haven't concluded on which size and inside color I prefer.... 🤔
I have used the B6 mostly, but I have to say I've really enjoyed the A5 this year. It's not that much bigger if I want to carry it around and it feels roomier to write in. The insides - I'm all about that MIO paper!! I'm a Biz girl forever.
I’ve wanted to try Jibun Techo for a few years, but never have!!!
It’s a great planner!
I have just started to use the A5 kit version, I love it!!!!
@@karenbarker5018 me too!!
Tried it twice, in both sizes - no luck for me. I'm trying out Nolty Planners this year that has a similar layout, but the vertical time strip is minimalist like Sterling Ink's. Hoping I can stay in it longer than my other planners this year (1.5 - 2 months was the trend).
Maybe the vertical layout isn’t what you need? Have you tried other layouts?
Loved your video and the accompanying blog post. And of course would love to see another flip video if you decide to record one. For me, my main planner has been a digital planner that I use in Goodnotes and I hop in and out of paper planners / notebooks as the feeling arises. Sometimes I need the tactile experience of paper. I plan to do the same in 2024. Not putting pressure on myself to decide on the ‘one’ paper planner as that’s normally when I change my mind more than necessary. I have an A5 Hobonichi HON & a Common Planner to play with should I want to. Take care x
Thanks for stopping by! I have tried Goodnotes on my ipad for work planning but I just can't seem to get going with it... I'm just too set in my ways, I think. (and I love paper!)
yes! flip through please : )
I’ll see what I can do!
I always like your flip throughs. And welcome back
Thank you!
Re: planning ahead etc. Alastair Method Calendar for months ahead are indispensable in my bujo for that very reason.
That's a great idea!
I’ve been using my pocket Leuchtturm this month as well and have been for just a little bit and I LOVE it and I find myself using and reaching it for it more than my usual planner. Anytime I declare a planner - it’s like demand avoidance lol and then I won’t want to use it. But I do love my pocket bujo and I’m just going with the flow 😂
That's awesome! Go with what works!
Thanks for sharing! I use the EC Daily Petite and an A5 stalogy for meeting notes.
That's a great idea. I've used the EC Petite Planners in the past and liked them.
Thank you for this. I work in product development too. Can you talk more about planning the launches, deadlines to be specific and task prioritization. Thank you
Sure! let me put something together. Thanks for the suggestion!
Thank you for sharing!! I’m interested in more videos about how you keep up with all of your work responsibilities. It’s something that challenges me as a new supervisor.
Love the DIY Fish monthly inserts. Still one of my favorites to this date.
Mine too! I always seem to go back to them. They're so well organized.
I love how you are using this. It looks great!
Thank you! 😊
I’m tempted to try a B6 next year. I’ve been journaling in an A5 Hobonichi Day-free (grid is too small, love the paper) and an A6 Stalogy 1/2 year (not enough paper) this year - maybe a B6 Stalogy will be my sweet spot?
The B6 size is Goldilocks to me. Not too big, not too small. Just right!
Beautiful flip! B-6 is a lovely size, isn't it? Thanks for sharing🌻
It really is!
Thanks for sharing! I appreciate your useful functional setup - mine is similar and has made me realize that the Papertess designs weekly planner (hobo weeks sized) is going to be my planner for 2024 - so functional with plenty of grid note pages in the back
Glad it was helpful! That's an awesome plan for 2024. I'm still "exploring my options" 😁. Thanks for stopping by!
