I found a VHS tape called Let's Get Lost. It's a documentary film about Chet Baker (a very important jazz trumpet player from California). I bought a VHS tape player so I could sample it and make a beat with it. I sample it with SP 202, I make the drum loop on MPC 2000 and I compress the beat with SP 303. I hope you like it! I made a Lofi beat on MPC2000 and I record it in SP202 using the HI-FI sample rate and LO-FI1 sample rate. What is the difference? Does it really sounds lofi? I give you my opinion about that. I sample a smooth jazz song on my SP202 and then I pitch it down to make it sound more Lofi. For the drums I sample “You know I’m no Good” from Amy Winehouse’s album “Back to Black”. I chop it up and make the drum loop on the MPC2000. Then I mix the drum loop on the Soundcraft EFX8 to get the sound I want. Apart from a few sampler’s like the SP-12, SP-2000, MPC 60, these are 3 of the best samplers ever made. I even think the MPC 2000 sounds better than the 2000XL.
