More and more, we found that people were coming to us from all over the New England area to shop for locally-made, custom-built mattresses in a low-pressure environment. That's why we expanded into Portsmouth and Manchester, New Hampshire, and now Andover, Massachusetts!

I have tried 10 inch mattresses that felt very soft and sunk in quite a bit. On the other extreme I have tried 15 inch mattresses that felt like bricks. I have also tried 10 inch and 15 inch that had the same "Medium" firmness rating. I don't understand the point of making any mattress thicker if they can have any firmness at any thickness. When both a thick or thin mattress are rated as "Medium" firmness what are the actual differences in feel and support? What are the reasons to make one so much thicker if the firmness is the same? How does sinkage depth relate to firmness rating?
