the page turner did such a great job. give that man a raise
I will double your page-turner honoraria
Wow- really great video and excellent instructional narration! Thank you for sharing this high quality content! I'm considering trying some of these techniques- do I interpret correctly- are you able to almost entirely eliminate cracking [into the blade] with your GSP setup and this forming method? I'm thinking specifically of what you said at approximately 6:43 timestamp. If your reeds are relatively crack-less after forming- that's amazing and I can't wait to try some of these new ideas! Thanks again and regardless, wishing you many great reeds!
What Template do you use for your reeds style? Also do you have advice for resharpening the profiler blade? Thanks!
Thanks so much! This was super helpful :)
🥦🥦🥦🥦🔥🔥🔥🔥
This is an excellent performance of this piece.
Thank you for this video! I was a good player in the 70's and on one of my auditions when I was 15, the judge said "No vibrato". I didn't know what it was. Then someone told me and I did "jaw vibrato". NONE of my teachers ever worked with me on that! Not even when I majored in bassoon at college! is that normal for teachers to just "let the student figure it out"? Now I just bought a bassoon at 60 and started playing after 40 years! I'm working hard on the vibrato. This is helping a lot! Thanks!
Hi Hilary. Great playing, really embraces what a bassoon can and should sound like. Are you using a Moosmann M24?
Thank you! Not a Moosmann, I play a 12,000 series Heckel.
@@stephwillowpatts I see. Love the bell design!
Excellent. Really brings out the bassoon's timbres and diapason.
Great playing and tone. This sonata also works well for alto recorder. I'd never thought of the bassoon and organ going together, but it works. Maybe harpsichord would offer best tonal contrast. In any case, thanks!
Beautiful!
Gosh, Stephanie.. your playing is always so beautiful and so full of heart. I could listen to you all day. Bravo to you both, fantastic piece!
Lovely! You both have offered a fine performance.
Great video. I am currently working on this and I must say, I sound like one of those ducks you speak of🤣 thanks for sharing
Incredible performance, Stephanie! Love this piece so much. Most perfect end. 😥❤️
SO GOOD!
Great
Beautiful performance!
This piece is absolutely incredible! And the concept behind it - translating words into music that have no equivalents in English - is truly amazing. I'm so glad it's becoming a standard part of the bassoon repertoire! <3 And of course -- what a brilliant performance!
Excellent work!
Very compelling performance!!!
This is my favorite Chris performance.
bravissimo!
Excellent. Not only fine music, but this is the first performance I've ever seen where Stockhausen's wish for the costume was fulfilled: a teddy bear, like the one he had as a child.
It’s the wrong colours, though. His was yellow, with brown trim. Just sayin’.
