Praise God. The Holy Spirit is awesome and when you invite God to come into your heart believe me, everything changes. I was a very angry cocane abuser. I went to church with a girlfriend and had an open mind. I received the Holy Spirit and I completely changed. I'm happy and at peace. I think it’s great. You gave your life to Christ, but the speaking in tongues as much as you think it’s real and wanted it to be real, it’s not. It’s not biblical, I lived it for decades, and saw more abuses and Pentecostal nonsense….. I would urge you to do a real study on it independently of those trying to support it and you’ll find that everywhere It was observed it was people who could translate from one human language to another, not heavenly babble. There’s one scripture by Paul, who talks about speaking in the tongues of angels, but he’s not talking about it in the realm of the prophetic, he saying no matter what I do if I don’t have love, it’s always. Nothing more. What are you talk about someone speaking in tongues not having understanding, that would be a foreign language. I have after many years of study prayer research and careful review recognize that God gave you a complete canon of scripture, all the revelation you need, and everything he wanted you to know. There are no more revelations. If God give you a prophetic revelation, he’s gone outside of his word, and you have no way of being able to confirm it. And he’s already told you what he needs to tell you in his word, so it doesn’t make any sense that he would repeat it. What you want, not want to hear, but it’s the truth. Urge you to check out strange fire, John MacArthur‘s conference on a lot of the Pentecostal and word, faith, abuses, and nonsense, it’s very enlightening. And it’s true. Believe me, I’d love to be getting words from God, supernaturally, but then again his Bible is supernatural and it is his word. as Peter said, we have a more sure word of prophecy, the word of God. In the Bible were Paul talks about he would want everyone to prophesy means to profess, to preach…. Not to have visions of future events. All the best to you, rejoicing that you’ve repented and put your trust in the savior. That is truly the greatest miracle, passing from death to life. The greatest gift, the old passed away all is new. If I may give you one piece of advice, I wish somebody would have given me as a newer believer, become a student of Bible study, do we study on hermeneutics, learn how to really divide and interpret God’s word with respect to history, context, biblical languages, colloquialisms, so that you can read his word from the perspective of a new testament believer or an Old Testament . Don’t trust, gurus, people giving you their interpretation, study for yourself. You don’t want to get taken in by false doctrines, it is so easy. Truly pray for wisdom, and if someone puts a hand on you and gives a word for your life, I origin not to receive it or buy into it. The Holy Spirit will speak to you through his word as you hide it in your heart. That is precious.
