Sir, when using the tuning plates what happens to the grease? Builds up? Has to be cleaned after every cook? Just curious, thank you.
Great question! It mostly vaporizes when it hits the plate but you’ll get some build up on most long cooks. I simply scrape the plates off. You’ll not get much grease pooling in the bottom since it mostly vaporizes

What size are those wheels? It looks very heavy and i wonder about how hard to move it on grass areas .
Great question! They are 5 inch casters. I have not had issues in grass unless it is very soft turf. We can also substitute bigger semi pneumatic casters.

Yep! They are!
@smokeslingerpits Sam's sells bone-in and Costco sells boneless here in Tampa Bay. I've always had better luck with bone-in. The bone seems to transfer heat to the center and help speed up cooking.

That’s a beast of a cooker! Looks like you really need to know what you’re doing to cook in this monster! I like it!
Thanks, brother! Actually, there are other ways to run this smoker that make it really easy. A complete novice can run it. It looks difficult at first if someone doesn’t have any experience with fire management, but we’re here 100% to help with that! I do have more videos with other styles of operation coming up. The easiest method is one created by one of the OG barbecue guys named Jim Minion We call that the minion method you’ll hear that referred to a lot of places This is where the cooker runs itself basically burns like a fuse. Stay tuned for more videos!

Are you going to do a demo of smoking briskets using just wood splits and does the briskets have to be on the top cooking grate?
ABSOLUTELY! I plan on doing that very soon! I am going to start with 1 brisket showing the offset method and use the top grate. then do 4 briskets using the top grate and continue changing things up as we go. There are so many ways to do things on this cooker, we will not run out of content any time soon!

Thanks! Only reason is so the insert can be removed easily. I actually cook without the insert sometimes.
Frank, what is your take on using a water pan with The Smokeslinger? When might a water pan be practical to use?
Great question! I normally do not see a use for a water pan since the tuning plates take care of the hot spots.

Great video! My original Smokeslinger doesn’t have the removable drawer slides or the tuning plates but I still love it! Very versatile.
