德安裏的建築，集潮汕民居建築的大全：大祠堂、三廳亙、五間過、四點金、下山虎、駟馬拖車、五壁聯、獨腳獅等。在潮汕見不到或罕見的建築形式，在這裡都能看到。
德安裏整個建築組羣由三部分有機聯繫組成，每一部分又是一個獨立完整的富於特色的建築組羣，一組“百鳥朝凰”、兩組“駟馬拖車”，每組裏面又有多座獨立的造型結構，各具特色又有機連結在一起的建築。
德安里老寨和中寨坐西朝東，新砦坐北朝南，老寨建築格局為“百鳥朝凰”，中寨和新砦建築格局為“駟馬拖車”。建築形式保持了晚清典型潮汕村寨特色，寨內又有洋式建築，有繼承，也有發展。
德安裏雖歷滄桑鉅變，但整體建築保存較完整，其規模之大，構築之精，式樣之全，造型之美，堪稱潮汕建築藝術的奇葩。它以其罕見的建築佈局和獨特的設計風格，被編入華南理工大學建築系的民用建築教科書中。
