what if you are driving a van on the motorway and the speed limit is dropped to say 50mph and then the next sign displayed is a National speed limit symbol, is the van meant to go no faster than 60mph or 70mph?
Then past the national speed limit sign it's just the national speed limit, which is still 70 on the motorway even for vans.
